I'm a long-time RaceRoom fan with over 500 hours clocked in the sim, and the highest ranked UK player currently. I've not had any problems with the game for years, but since upgrading from Windows 10 to 11 I've been experiencing game crashes, including one whilst leading a ranked race in which I subsequently lost 20 points Each time the game crashes I'm taken straight back to the Windows desktop with no error screen, and my wheelbase continues to provide the same level of force it was providing at the moment the game crashed. Describe what you were doing when the crash occurred Both whilst in a ranked multiplayer race and in single player leaderboard modes. Mention whether the game has worked for you previously Yes, for many years, 500+ hours and hundreds of ranked races Mention any changes you've made to your system recently Upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, no other changes have been made List your hardware specifications HP Omen 30L Desktop GT13-0079na Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz 3.70 GHz HyperX 16.0 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM GeForce RTX3080 10GB (drivers fully up to date) Windows 11 Home 23H2
Whats your wheel? When did you upgrade to win11? Was it clean install or just upgrade from win10 with all apps intact? One of those two files seem quite old, do you have more recent ones? Does any other app crash alongside rre? eg steam
Thanks for the quick reply Wheel is a CSL DD 8Nm. The Windows 11 install was an upgrade, not a clean build. No issues with the upgrade though and I’ve not had any problems with other games (yet!). When these crashes occur no other apps are affected, everything else remains running and the system is otherwise stable. I have two more recent crash dump files but they are both empty unfortunately
Hello @The Jay - When upgrading windows version, it's probably a good idea to ensure drivers are all there and latest. Have you tried reinstalling your fanatec drivers, maybe they have a new version / firmware version available for such windows builds?
if your updating the fana drivers id suggest , uninstal all fanatec stuff run ccleaner use registry tool delete the suggested registry entries reinstal fana stuff restart pc Andi
Thanks all for your advice and suggestions. I’ll try updating the Fanatec drivers first and will report back with any updates.
After reinstalling Fanatec drivers I've enterred numerous races and spent several hours in time trials without any game crashes, so I'd say that was the culprit. Thanks all for your replies!
