So I'm running the set up as shown below, and due to me being not much of a pc guy, I'm wondering how far I could push my system and keep it reliable? AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core processor 3.4 GHz 16GB Ram Gtx 1050ti
No I wouldn't attempt something like that I don't have a clue haha but I meant how high could I potentially run the settings before I create problems for myself?
The graphics settings? I thought the higher the settings, quality, amount of cars etc the more it required from the pc? Or am I getting that all wrong? You're talking to someone who does not have much experience with gaming on pc so apologies if this sounds stupid to you!
Your graphics card could be the bottleneck but now the game actually indicates the impact on CPU and graphics of the major options. I´d put everything to max and see what FPS you are getting (you can use the one on STEAM). If it is lower than your monitor refresh rate in hz (60,144 or whatever it may be) then you need to turn something down - I´d start with shadows and car reflections and also rear view mirror as they are the most demanding ones. You are not going to damage your system putting the graphics settings on max, at worst you´ll run higher temperatures but if that worries you then just leave things as they are. The key is to have a stable frame per second rate on most tracks. Another thing to look at is how many other cars are drawn. The more cars, the more the CPU has to work.
If it's lower than 60 then yes. But lower than 144 is not necessarily a problem if it still looks good and smooth to your eyes.
Damn, the advice was great... I loaded up the fps display up amd was getting around 37fps, adjust settings down until I'm getting around 85-90 for and wow I never realised how big of a difference it would make. Thanks again @Maskerader and @Vale
I did the shadows and rear view mirror and it didn't do much, so I just downgraded everything by 1 (ultra to high, 8 ssaa to 8msaa etc) and it was great
Over time I'll turn each one back up until I see the fps drop more but atm I've got plenty to play with and learn after installing the Simulator-Controller app by TheBigO...
