    Hi folks,

i noticed my game shows no tiresmoke or dust at all. At first i thought i messed it up while playing around with those other graphic moods so i changed everything back to normal, nothing changed. I reinstalled the game and deleted all config files to make sure everyhing is set back, nothing changed.

I'm not sure if i had smoke bevore playing around with the settings but i can't really remember.

Graphic options are all maxed out. Checked config file:
    <particleDetailLevel type="uint32">2</particleDetailLevel>

Does anyone ever had this issue? Couldn`t find anything when i googled it. Dunno if it's the GPU? It's a 5700XT, CPU Ryzen 5, 3600.

Thanks in advance for any help.

After testing several a lot of combinations with different graphic options, it looks like i found the problem. It seems multisampling caused this.

What do you configure to get rid of it? I prefer not to have smoke clouds obscuring my view.

i'm not sure if it is a bug but i have no smoke or dust at all when multisampling is not off. Other options have no effect on that.

sounds like a bug, or smoke gets multisampled and causes too much strain an AAing particles? so it was disabled? but im sure i see smoke and use msaa? ill get back to you later

can u try in offline practice, online server and ranked maybve that makes a difference

Thanks for reporting this issue. We'll investigate it and forward to the devs once we know the steps to reproduce the problem.

As UK_SPAWN already mentioned, please give as much relevant info as you can. What game mode does it happen in (single player or multiplayer, practice and so on), what track and car were you using, what's your PC's specs, what resolution are you using.

Would it be possible to have an OFF setting in graphics settings for this option?

just did a ranked race online and i do have smoke and i do use MSAA. I also use the NVIDIA "enhance ingame setting" AA set to the same as ingame.

Don't see smoke in the mirrors though.

Thanks for sharing this detailed information. Sadly nobody among us was able to reproduce this error so far. One thing I noticed you both have in common is using an optional AMD GPU driver (21.2.3). This made me wonder if there might be an issue with those latest beta drivers.

Did smoke work before at some point, has it maybe stopped working after updating the GPU driver?
Has any of you tried to roll back to the last recommended driver to see if that changes things?

Or maybe you both have enabled some setting in the gpu driver that causes this...? Do you use an individualised profile for RR?

    @Christian G
I have updated my driver yesterday to 21.2.3 to check if the issue is gone. But it sill remain, before i have a 20.x.x version.
I used the standard profil in the GPU settings and no overclocking.

I did a test with override multisampling game settings by the driver, and came to the same result.

The last time i can remember that it worked, was around the time as daytona was published.
I will a test some older driver version, to valided it.

After some install, testing, uninstall i can say. With driver version 20.4.2 it´s all fine and in version 20.5.2 no more smoke and dust.

I also updated to 21.2.3 a couple days ago. I played RR for the first time in february. I'm very sure i never had smoke since i started playing.

I tested several options and settings via AMD Radeon software 21.2.3a

When i let AMD overwrite the application settings,i have smoke.

When AMD is set to Expand application settings and RR Multisampling is off, i also have smoke.

When AMD is set to Expand application settings and RR Multisampling is 2x, i don't have smoke.
(no matter if i choose multisampling, adaptive multisampling or supersampling in the AMD settings.)

I tested driver version 20.4.2 and everything works fine. Tryed 20.5.2 i also have no more smoke and dust.

    Hope that helps.
