Stumbled across this yesterday and this has me hyped about trying to properly set up dampers for the first time in my life :D
Still have to see how the actual improving the car setup bit goes but setting up r2m and motec and loading a first couple of practice laps into motec worked like a charm and within like a few clicks, if only all software was this easy to get running :D

Yes, it is indeed very easy to set up.
I used it yesterday with the 994.

Is there keyboard shortcuts to start/stop recording or somewhere to set them up?

Download no problem ,but when i go to open the file "Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 redistributable file wont let me open it.

The "Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 redistributable file pop up gives me 3 options.

    Repair, uninstall or close.

Hitting Return/Enter toggles between start and stop. But R2M has to be in focus, so you'll have to ALT-TAB out of RaceRoom. I've added keyboard shortcuts to the various logging options in version 1.07 (which will be uploaded soon.)
R2M needs Microsoft's C++ redistributables, so that's probably why you get an error. Try installing the latest ones from Microsoft: LINK

Hey, the software doesn't seem to recognize properly when I restart my laps. I have this issue both on the leaderboards when I just reset and go again and in qualy with a rolling start (where you start in S3). I can see in the data the moment I reset the car to the beginning, but it doesn't recognize that this should be a new lap.

Hey Jakub, sorry for the late answer; I've just become aware of your post today.

Are you using the latest version (v1.06)? If so, I'd appreciate it if you could provide a step-by-step procedure on how to reproduce the issue.

Edit: I believe what you're describing is simply an artefact of how Motec i2 works - annoyingly it always assumes a run starts from the start/finish line, even though it didn't. If you take a look at the sample files included with Motec (e.g., circuit/sample.ld) you'll see the same issue where the first lap is offset in comparison to the following laps.

Also, when you restart a session (by either clicking 'Restart session' or 'Return to garage',) R2M should create a new log file. I haven't been able to reproduce the issue you mentioned. I'd appreciate a step-by-step procedure on how to trigger it.

I'm having an issue: I have v1.06 and it saves correctly the log files in the usual folder but when I try to open them in the motec i2 it sees only the old files from two years ago (last time I used the app). If I go into the folder and double click a new file the motec opens it and I have all the data. I just can't see them from the "open log file" window.

EDIT: is a problem only in last Motec version 1.1.6, previous versions works flawlessy. Any fix for this?

Version 1.08 for tomorrow's release of RaceRoom is up: https://github.com/KrisP69/R2M/releases/latest

You probably already know this, but this issue was fixed in version 1.07. It was due to some additional checks introduced by Motec in v1.1.6.0887 (ironically it also affected log files from some of their own products, so they had to release a bugfix shortly after.)

We need to get the units of measurement correct.
Virtually nothing has a unit of measurement.
Also the damper velocity is not right.
I'm happy to help out if needed. I really want to have working motec in RRE.

Hi Alex, we were chatting about this in Discord.
You showed me the sim does export damper velocity.
You said the R2M software was being updated and I found this update straight after.
As you can see, the suspension velocity is unitless.

You also shared your project and said to open the workspace i2.wsp file.
I can only opem .mtcprj files in motec.

    No such issues here

I notice your Motec build is both quite old and has a iracing suffix.

I'd suggest trying a vanilla version of the latest i2 pro

I actually might need to make the colour scale lower for RRE.
Fun times ahead to get it dialled in

The iracing suffix was just me using my iracing project and making changes to inputs. Its the new motec that made all the difference.
Iracing wouldn't work with the newer I2 Pro.
Good to see some tyre temps that are realistic again. The iracing tyre model is a nightmare.
