It seems that WTCC switch back to a 2 class field for 2017. http://www.touringcartimes.com/2016...ch-in-2017-adding-fia-tcn2-cars-to-the-field/ http://www.motorsport.com/wtcc/news/wtcc-set-to-add-secondary-class-to-boost-grids-in-2017-854458/ So WTCC2 or TCN2 based on the TCR cars, with a few stricter safety rules (f.e. another fuel tank). Maybe Sector3 shoudl already start to design TCR models for 2017 Experiences in R3E
Not keen on a two-class field in any form of touring car racing. It was pretty boring in WTCC before and probably will be again. I see this as a tacit admission that the TC1 class has been a failure and I think the TCN2 class sets the course for the WTCC from here. Sector3 should definitely jump on board the TCR train one way or another, whether that be via the TCR Germany Series, STCC or the WTCC TCN2 class. TCR regulations are quickly becoming the standard for less expensive touring car competition and will be here to stay for a long time ahead.
Agreed, just look at the number of championships with TCR regulations and this is a fairly new series, crazy how fast it's growing.
Tcr series is the futur best seller of sector 3. In 2016 tcr is 8 brands 21 teams And 38 pilotes Now it's the ultimate future pack for raceroom racing experience . I hope devs can buy the licence.
Fortunately WTCC2 has been abandoned for 2017. On the other hand, only 12 TC1 entries are confirmed right now...
R3E needs TCR as I think this class will overtake GT3's popularity soon. Really hope we'll see TCR in R3E too, along with GT4.
Now, I'm all for TCR cars in R3E, they will/would make a fine addition and tracks like Karlskoga will work really well with them, but how do you figure this is about to happen? TCR car look nowhere near as varied and don't even produce as large fields as say the Blancpain GT Endurance races. Nor does GT3 look "threatened" by any other type of car in Simracing, at least not so long as you put them on Spa.
IMO the TCR cars will be the future and i don't see a bright future for the current WTCC cars. I really like the WTCC cars but they are too expensive while the TCR cars are more affordable.
Well honestly... these are mostly FWD cars! So why bother??? They're probably more boring than my daily driver...
A while back I would have agreed but after persevering, I do find the WTCC cars rather stimulating. At first they are an understeering barnacle on the arse, whilst sliding down the bannister of life but once you get the front end loaded, these cars are fun, really can throw them around and as with most Touring cars the racing is wheel to wheel and exhilarating. I'm now hoping Sector3 car wrestle the BTCC from Codies idle hands and give us a track Brit pack to die for, or will I die before?
