Why not? It should be not so difficult.
They could release 3 tracks and 10 cars (4 GT, 3 DTM, 3WTCC) for 15 euros and then later the rest with DLCs on the Xbox store.

I'm quite sure that Microsoft would be happy to have the official DTM and WTCC game.

It would certainly get them some rapid cash. I think that's why Assetto Corsa is going console.

I don't want to give Microsoft any more money. Their attitude towards the customer is abysmal at times. Playstation 4 please.

    Hello,

Unfortunately console versions (Whether it is XONE or PS4) of RaceRoom Racing Experience is not a possibility.

It's not "probably quite easy" or something anywhere close to that,

There's allot of things that have to be looked at when porting to a console..

Also, I think a simulator like this really doesn't benefit from going console.. Yeah, they'd probably get some extra allowance money, but it takes valuable time away from other (in my opinion greater) projects for this game's future. Like new tracks, cars and physics-related gooblegabble.

Due to too much license fees (for tools and distribution)?

If it's not so easy it means that the games who are working on Xbox One are not working in the same environnement then the ones working on PC even if the OS is windows.
It would means that they are executed in a virtual machine and the environnement is probably an unix core.

If it's Unix, it means a lot of work and probably too much for this small team and it's the same issue than for the PS4.

R.I.P. consoles, PC games forever. While thousand of obsolete consoles and millions of dvd as well are forgotten and make planet trashy, PC stays on top and you can play even old games anytime. Be conscious about this. You can spen much more money on buying each year a new released console and lots of dvds that you won't even play. While you just can keep updated you PC cheaper.

errr just because one game is easy to port doesn't mean another is and lets be honest, most ports are not great, or have many issues.

I'm playing a most excellent port in Arkham Knight now (haha). Not even playable till the backlash hit and forced a huge update.

Yeah... you don't seem to know very much about the console market. There used to be a minimum of four years between console generations, more like five, and the PS3 and 360 lasted seven years. My four year old PC struggled to run the new Battlefield game, and some new games would barely run at all. What I really like about console gaming, besides the incredible variety of games, is the fact that the developers optimize their game engines and code every couple of years - in essence, they upgrade the consoles for us. No $200 graphics card, $100 in ram or $300 CPU required. Or $6-900 for the whole shebang.

Also, I find PC games to be... well, PC games. Other than racing sims, shooters and war sims and strategy games, a few sports titles and Half Life, I just don't consider PC gaming all that fun. And they didn't become really fun until they started becoming like console games. And as addicted as I am to good racing games, I have a huge console library. You'll have to pry my Ratchet & Clank games from my cold dead fingers. :p

PC gaming is coming back into fashion to be sure, from near death by the way, but it's still a niche market compared to console gaming.

There's a ton of work that goes into any proper port, whatever new platform you are aiming for. The team over at Xbox have certainly made it a bit easier by making their console Windows-based, but it still wouldn't be a trivial matter to get the game running well on that platform. On top of that we'd need to re-work and tailor the game to work with the input devices that are most commonly available on that platform, hook it into their services etc. etc.

One thing that has always impressed me about consoles are the graphics they push out on limited hardware. And this is coming from a currently exclusive PC gamer with a nice GPU. PC guys will brag all day about raw power, meanwhile the console with half the oomph is keeping up, or very close, with alot less fuss. The optimization is impressive. This has pretty much been the case since the nintendo 8 bit days - with graphically intense action games at least - sure kings quest looked great but not much on screen action. The devs have the exact specs and can squeeze every bit of power out of it.

I am always impressed with the graphics when new consoles come out - even though the hardware is still when new far behind cutting edge PC.

All that said, for Sim Racing. with PC you can take the immersion much further with extra monitors, telemetry, and tons of other accessories. PC definitely has plenty of advantages, but IMO the graphics aspect of it is overstated by overzealous fans.

And there's still a lot of work to do for RRE...
