Hello! With the summer discount it's time to buy a new track... I'd like to buy also some cars, but 'cause of my steam wallet I can buy just ONE track. Consider I run leaderboards and against AI, creating championships on my own. I'm interested at these: Road America: Always seen in US races, it seems a very nice track but it has just 1 layout... and I've never run there, not even in other games like Race07, NASCAR etc. Silverstone: It's a classic, but I'm not so enthusiastic about the nowdays layout... but it has 4 layouts, so it counts as 4 tracks... Montegi: As Road America, always seen in real races, but absolutely unknown to me, never run there... but 3 layouts are good... What do you suggest? which is the most fun to drive in? Thanks to all!
My inner-patriot was pushing me to vote for Silverstone, but I actually voted for Road America. It's true that it only has one layout compared to the others, but for me it is the most fun track of the three. Fast bits, slow bits, elevation changes, and it just has that nice old-school feel that more modern (or modernised) tracks lack.
For me itd be motegi (mainly the 2016 dtm cars) > road america (good for any fast cars imo) > silverstone (not a huge fan normally although for the fr90s its just perfect)
First two are great but at RA the AI will smash you on the long right hander (it's one of AIs little bugs). Silverstone is a classic but who hasn't driven it in every game ever made? Montegi is something different and a real mix of fast and slow turns. Try something new. But really 50% off tracks comes maybe once a year, so get all 3.
Voted for Silverstone because i have some nice Greenwood memories from it Surprised me how nice it was with Group 5, expected much less
My thoughts: I do also SP and championships (no leaderboard challenge). What makes most fun are tracks, where you can overtake. For sure the Nordschleife is the best track worldwide (but overtaking is very hard). I always ended up adding the same tracks to my championship, which are Nürburgring GP, Monza, Silverstone, Spa and Paul Richard. Of course Bathurst is legend but overtaking at the mountain does not really work. Zandvoort is great track but no overtaking (as you can see in real racing series as well) possible (maybe turn one but AI is much faster in last turn).
Speaking of overtaking i feel like motegi is brilliant. Again my experience against the ai is limited to the dtm 2016 but in those you can overtake in almost all corners (and thats not even exaggerated)
It seems an excellent motivation... thanks! Ok. Thanks! I'm doing a "career mode" in SP championship and I'm just at the end of the second season (Touring classic and now WTCC 2013)... It's a long way to FR90 or othe F1/Indy Cars... I've ever drove in Silverstone just in the 90's version and tested the new one once in RE3, in a free competition: It's quite different, so it's almost "new" for me anyway... I know... At the moment I can't afford the whole 3 tracks, even because I'd have to buy also Mantorp and Bathurst.
Cannot do at the moment... I already own Nordschleife and I hate it!! I own all of them, except Bathrust. I just miss the Swedish tracks, Zuhai and the four I've already mentioned (Bathrust, Montegi, RA, Silverstone)
OK, Nordschleife was a joke. I love to drive there, so I had to mention it Do the Motegi Thing. This is a really cool track.
https://www.raceroomstore.com/shop_de/list_page?cat=17 10.000 vRPs = 64,99 € 1 vRP = 0,006499 € Road America = 250 vRP Silverstone = 250 vRP Twin Ring Motegi = 250 vRP ------------------------------------ Sum = 750 vRP 750 vRP x 0,006499 € = 4,87 € (for 3x great tracks!!!)
I loved Road America for GT endurance cars but i havent driven it in RR yet Twin Ring Motegi is good. I dont enjoy driving any of the current real world silverstone layouts.
I only recently raced at Montevideo, but I was very pleasantly surprised by it. It’s a beautiful track and great fun to race at. Can’t believe I’d never even heard of it before!
