So, just a few words... If you remove the front cover of your T300 you will find 2 pair of cables. One is connected to the left padel, the other to the right padel. I used male dupont cables to extend this cables and installed a GX16 aviation socket on the right side of my T300: I've soldered the cables to pin 1+2 and 4+5, the GX16 plug of my seq. shifter is soldered the same way. Done!
Excellent! I have had the panel off and seen the wires, I will run them out and connect my sequential in a similar way (I use a 6.4mm stereo plug as my connection). This way the t300 sees paddle and sequential as the same input? This will free up 2 inputs on my button box and stop me having to change profile to use sequential shifter
Each switch has a ground/common wire which can be joined together. Leaving 2 free wires for the inputs.
Small update (or should i say big?): Just installed my new Samsung 49" curved 4K TV! Amazing! So a big step forward compared to the 32" LG 720p TV before. And Raceroom runs pretty good in 4K, 140+ frames in training and between 50 and 75 with 99 AI cars on Nordschleife. Driver point of view: The steering wheel is my T300 and the display my old Xperia Z3 with dashpanel app. I like it!
What exactly are those you wrapped on both sides of the wheel, and made them stick with? Might be a good option to prevent sweat building into the alcantara. What size are those triples? Don’t you find them bit too far forward?
It's called Kinesiology sports tape, used for injury support, it works quite well, bit sticky to start with but yeah it will stop the Alcantara going shiny, would just need a quick clean to get rid of any sticky residue if removed, feels nice and chunky as well.
Yeah the triples are a problem, I have the Vesaro triple stand as well but those 24" monitors don't have a VESA mount so I can't use it so I just used my old desk and pulled them as far forward as possible before they fall off, it doesn't look too bad when you are actually in the seat it lines up quite well but my next upgrade will be triple 32" with VESA. Need to clean the shed up now as it was full of junk but cleared it out lol.
For similar cost, what options you suggest/have in mind? DFGT is rubber-like and G27/T300 is artificial leather, and have their own issues with sweat (ie. get sticky).
I would consider a new legit steering wheel with genuine black leather and custom button box that would last for very long time. Initially expensive to buy but it would last for a very long time
Both, Alcantara and Suede are easy to clean and to keep clean. My oldest suede steering wheel is now 3 years old, i clean it in the dishwasher every six month. It looses some color, but is totaly easy to dye in black again. Looks like new again after the treatment.
Agreed, If you never wash your pants it won’t be easy to get it clean. If you wash it more often it is not that hard to clean it at all. Same for Alcántara.
Yep g27 is real leather. I got one of those 100% non genuine OMP rims off eBay for my t300. No idea of its leather or fake leather but it's decent enough.
