This doesn't look like a racing sim trailer, sliding everycorner, modified road cars, dirty racing... I'm not sure I'm the target audience of that trailer.
Looks like some kind of NFS wannabe to me. Souped up road cars, road racing, cheating apparently encouraged. Think I'll be giving this one a wide berth.
It's certainly leaning on the action side of things. I've a soft spot for the franchise as it's what got me back into sim racing after drifting away from the early GT games. Once I discoverd AC, and eventually RRE, I never really looked back. I hope it's successful though..I think it serves an important role in starting people off into the more 'serious' stuff. EDIT - Just watched the above gameplay. That looks like something of a departure from what they were trying to do with 1 & 2, and I'm not getting good vibes from that either.
Maybe its good when PC3 is not a tryhard sim. They failed 2 times. 2 was close was quite there but not in the overallquality of the content and the for me especially the inconsistent AI. This time i wont buy it until some time goes by and we see how it performes, but never say never, maybe it is fun like Forza Horizon (FM7 would be fun, when they had proper race weekends...)
Sorry, but thats just a morphed version of Forza Motorsport, Grid, NFS, Gran Turismo and Asphalt. I really don't see any good aspect why this should be called PC3. Nobody needs another one of these. I like PC2 when you change the FFB to the community created one. But it's just because it looks good. Greetings
pCARS 3 has the same producer as DriveClub and Motorstorm: https://twitter.com/Rushy33/status/1268230964976721925 I'm not surprised pC3 looks like a hybrid of Shift, Grid and pCARS.
Yeah, it definitely doesn't look like a sim. Doesn't mean it's bad, of course, but this is probably not what people expected. Let's see how it works out...
Yes but what is the point in releasing yet another pure sim when ACC, RRE, AMS2 and RF2 are all competing for the same niche? Moreso when AMS2 is using the same engine - there may have been a non competition agreement when they made that contract. World of Speed got nerfed before it even started and there are not so many PC games based on a more open world roaming type platform.
I agree on the points above around it seeming very Grid-esque, maybe some Codemasters influence already setting in. I enjoyed PC1 despite its flaws as there were some interesting niche series (Ginetta GT4, Ginetta Juniors, Renault Clio Cup etc.) and tracks you don't see in other games (Oulton Park, Knockhill etc.). I was excited for PC2 and the expanded series lineup (Pirelli World Challenge especially) and track roster. I was so disappointed with the game when it came out, the front outside tyre overheating bug made the game unplayable for me, cars losing grip at rear mid corner for no apparent reason, AI bugs and inconsistencies were a pain amongst other things. Even if future trailers and gameplay look more enticing, I'll be wary of buying the game having felt ripped off once before.
