It would be stupid not to use data that comes with the leasing of the madness engine? Why do it all from scratch if you already have access to it?
There is a recent post by Renato on the AMS2 forum where he listed exactly what assets were taken from PC and vice versa but now I don´t remember where, when or what.
Looks like a nice chunky DLC pack, but I keep falling into the same trap with AMS2 in getting excited for XYZ, downloading/buying it, using it for an hour, and then drifting back to other titles. I still can't pinpoint why, but it just doesn't stick with me.
Crickets in multiplayer and poor camera views are what bring me back to RRE from AMS2 every time. AMS2 has a lot of detail features like the dynamic track, historic weather data, customisable liveries and talent files plus the dynamic weather but those 2 basic fails kill the game for me.
Yes, that´s what most people complain about but the chase came is also set too close and near to the car and gives no sense of speed. You can move them in dev mode but then they just go back to their original position - Madness! Standard AC is no better but at least there are mods that can fix them.
https://forum.reizastudios.com/threads/automobilista-2-may-2021-development-update.18090/ Looks like being a busy sim weekend what with ACC free to play too.
Oh, I see. Why camera issues are still a thing in 2020s, I don't get it. The gaming industry had decades to work it out and many developers did. But many others still try to reinvent this wheel...
There is a fix - right control key + k allows you to pan all the cameras then 2 more presses saves it but only for that camera and that session. It is irritating the game doesn´t allow you to save them as standard settings or at least be able to mod a file to do it manually. A lot of favourable comments from players since 1.2 came out. I think the Madness engine could well be the most well rounded for racing games.
Oh yeah, I've completely fallen in love with the new GTE's and the DPI. Also the new weather system is amazing. I've been glued to my rig all weekend playing ams2
I wanted to like ams2. I really thought it would be "the one". But it just doesn't hit the spot for me. There's just something off with the ffb and physics, it's not terrible but it's enough for me to put it back down again. It does very much feel like pcars 2.5 to me, its better but there's still enough of the weirdness there to put me off. Visually it does a great job, can't fault the madness engine there and it certainly runs a hell of a lot better than ACC. If raceroom could run and look like AMS2 it would be heaven.
Yes, I agree but it is getting better and the cars are a lot less snappy than in RRE so it is horses for courses. I´d rank them as RRE and AMS2 as a close second with all the others miles behind. ACC in particular has been a disappointment on all levels and I won´t be buying it.
