I have 90-95% of the content of R3E and I love the game. But for me SCE has the best open wheelers of all sims by far. Besides all cars have in my opinion, have extremely good physics and FFB, every one of them. The only thing that can be reproaching from SCE are the graphics. Now with AMS Reiza introduce for free, the new Formula V10 that can only be described as supreme. AMS is an evolution of SCE, which was already one of the most complete and best sims on the market in my opinion.
nop... it's the sound. Coming from R3E, the stereo only sound of AMS break the immersion The samples are good, but no 5.1 ...
R3E looks and sounds better than AMS, there's no doubt about that. Well, R3E sounds better than everything and anyone who argues against that lacks a serviceable pair of ears! However I think AMS has taken a nice step forward in looks and presentation. The integral SweetFX option gives a more realistic colour palette, the track surface looks more alive than R3E with the rubbering-in and marbles, and the menus and HUD look more professional. I ran a couple of races at the Red Bull Ring yesterday and when you're sat in the cockpit it really doesn't look much different to R3E. Where AMS does fall behind is in replays which I think is mainly due to the depth and quality of the track modelling and artistry in R3E, something which Reiza can't quite match.
For me, Automobilista has one of best FFB on the current Simracing market. The implemented RealFeel-plugin with the increased physics rate works wonders.
Mods yes they works on AMS. But they do not have the new features and perhaps some of them have problems with sounds. Tracks works only if they are not updated to the SCE standards. And have the same problem, they have no new features until they are updated. The best SCE tracks do not work, all from Patrick and others you can find on Xtremefactor with SCE standards.
Even if this info is from their Reiza-Beta-forum, but i think it's not a secret ....... Just quoting: "We still use the RealFeel plugin, only now it is not limited to the framerate and we increased the plugin rate to 360hz."
The best thing about games like this one, that the developer concentrates on physics rather on fancy graphics. Like Sector 3 does too, btw. Looking very nice!
Exactly is like Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO with good graphics, and crap gameplay vs Richard Burns Rally with bad graphics and superb gameplay. Which is better? Richard Burns Rally by miles even being in past decade.
This is the result of conspiracy between developers. One make a good looking game with bad gameplay, the other one making wise versa.
Idealy, we need all the devs to come together in a collaborated effort to produce the ultimate sim........cough! cough! EDIT: Downloading AMS as I type, 11.4Gb
How did you get the SweetFX operational on Win10? I asked Reiza via their own forums at Race Department about SFX as my log.log has a single entry - redirecting CreateDevice - and nothing else. Reiza informed that SweetFX is very hit and miss on Win10 and there is not a lot they can do about it. AMS is a fantastic sim - everyone should give this a try as the FFB and physics are sublime. You can choose to run the physics at 720hz with RealFeel at 360hz however Niels recomends both to be set a 360hz with the effects on Low.
