After days of testing and trialling things, rolling back drivers and firmware this evening I found the culprit (ish) it seems to be the DPR effect...
This afternoon I installed Steam and R3E on my laptop, plugged in the DD+ (new one) and it did the same thing so it must be a trigger between R3E...
