Hi all, I have just reinstalled raceroom after many years to check out the new update and I can't work out how to bind all my controls, it seems very unintuitive.
I have a simagic wheel, a number of button boxes and sequential shifter. I assume I have to click on bind but when I do a code ID:2 POU displays and when I selection a button to map nothing happens. What have I missed? Cheers

It sounds like one of your devices is constantly sending a signal. Try disconnecting your devices to find the faulty one so you can actually bind your buttons.

Hi, thanks fod the reply, a couple of things I have already tried, put deadzone on pedals, made no difference, made sure toggle switches were off on button boxes, made no difference, is there a way to identify which device it might be from the ID2: POU? Does POU have a meaning. Never had this issue in other sims when mapping. Cheers

Probably in your control profile .rcs file. It's in Documents\My games\Simbin\Raceroom...\UserData\ControlSet. Either post it here or look in it yourself. First part of the file is a huge list of all possible bindings, then there's a list of devices and their axes, this is what you want, look for what device is number [2]. Or [1], I don't know if they start with 0 or 1.

My first guess is hat switch up.

I have worked out that the issue is with my ignition controls button box. I was able to disconnect it to map my other ones but not sure how to map the IC one because it seems like something is staying active on it according in raceroom.

It doesn't have a hat switch but when i check the test page it looks like it shows it is active, this must be why i can't map anything to it because it is showing it is on. Funnily enough it only has this binding issue on raceroom.

Yeah, from what I heard Raceroom is more strict in regards to inputs, it doesn't do the "ah, whatever" assumptions that other games do.

That is a shame, was looking forward to trying it out after the updates as I have not played it in years

Well, I wouldn't blame the game for not working very well with a faulty hardware...

I wouldn't go as far as saying it is faulty as it works fine elsewhere, I might see if I can get it to work with something like joy to key and I might contact IC to see what the story is with it.

Are you using some kind of software to configure that box? Or did you install a certain firmware for it? It seems like it's configured to always return gamepad signals.

The wrong signal doesn't go away when you're turning the rotary encoders, right?

id try diview ; and in that you should be able to kill the signal of the non existant hat signal by using the dead zones

Can you kill a button this way? This hat switch looks like buttons, not a joystick.

Thanks for the replies above guys, I contacted ignition controls and they said there was a dodgy firmware so I updated that and it works as intended now. Cheers
