Resolved Control settings are missing, and game keeps going to black screen

So nearly every time I go to go into the "Controls" menu in Settings, there's nothing there, no key bindings or anything, and then shortly afterwards, it just goes to a black screen, with the menu music still playing., and I have to go to Task Manager to close the game. Also, I can't find the FFB settings anywhere for some reason.

 

Yeah I know that's what it looks like, it's just when I go to the Controls tab, there's nothing there, none of those four tabs, and then shortly after, it just goes to a black screen.

 

full system specs ; what controllers are you using , what other apps ; huds etc are you running

your on a controller ; those are wheel settings so i guess its normal its blacked out

It's not normal I don't think, because all those tabs and settings, like key bindings, have all been available to me previously, it's only just really recently they stopped being there.

 

Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE tell me how to get the Controls setting tabs back the Settings menu??? There has to be a way, because they were all there before before they just vanished for no reason.

 

Can you make a screenshot?

You could also try renaming your profile folder "Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience" so the game creates a fresh profile.

 

On \Mes documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData
save this files and delete graphics_options.xml and hud_options.xml

 

If I delete those .xml files though, the game says no responding and doesn't let me open it.

 

That can't be, the game should just create these files again with all default settings. Did you click on the splash screen while the game was loading? Let it load, wait for some time.

It sounds like the game doesn't have write access to your documents folder. You should check the permissions.

 

How do I do that?

 

No one else got any ideas how I could fix the controls menu not showing???

Good news! All the controls menus and FFB settings are back for me now. Thank god! Whatever I did, thanks for all your help.
