you asked how to open ports, so, i dont know what you want. and if you want to do that via handy or smartphone, its the same way .
perhaps the question is misdirected. suppose i have no fixed internet connection, so no modem. How can I create a dedicated server on rr using the phone's 4/5g connection?
yes of course but the problem is where to open the ports if I don't have the modem?that's the question
I found this discussion, but looks like your chances to make it work aren't high: https://android.stackexchange.com/q...-forward-internet-using-android-hotspot-to-pc
i can run a dedi from my phone check your firewall and av , make sure relevant ports are open if your trying to join your server it woll either work or wont , loop back !!?.... might be easier to prove the Hodge conjecture Andi
I have no experience setting up dedicated servers. I'm using a second PC for this (Windows 11), but my server isn't showing up in the multiplayer menu. Port forwarding and firewall permissions are set up. I'm wondering if this is due to the Windows network settings; I'm not sure how they should be configured. I can see the second PC on the network. I'm using a FritzBox 7590 (router), but I'm not sure if it supports loopback or if it's even necessary with a second PC? I appreciate any help.
How much data does it use to run a dedicated server on your phone (for example for one race)? I'm behind multiple routers and can't find a way to set it so that my phone can use wifi and I can loging to the race on my pc (wired).
So, I switched to a Windows machine. I followed the installation instructions. https://forum.kw-studios.com/index.php?threads/multiplayer-dedicated-how-to.687/ Unfortunately, the server doesn't appear in the multiplayer browser. Now I don't know how port forwarding works, since this is a rented server. Windows 11 is the operating system. In the Windows Firewall, Raceroom Dedicated Server and Raceroom Community Multiplayer are listed under allowed apps. Do the ports have to be opened separately in Windows? Or does the server provider have to open the ports? I don't know if the server is behind a router. Edit: i see this message: WARN DedicatedServerProcess.Process.Start pipe still connecting. But I don't know why that is.
