Problem Free flight camera removes HUD

I have two questions regarding the "free flight camera":

Changing to the "free flight camera" removes the HUD elements from the screen (speedometer, standings bar, etc). Can you not use it together with the HUD?

Once I set up the camera position- move up and down, etc, just the way I like it- can I lock the position so that it remains so for the next sessions, races, forever?

I don't think that the Free camera is made for racing. It's purpose is mainly for replay i guess.

No, with those buttons you can change the cameras, home toggles through the car action cams (I think). The cam they used in this video is one of those, and the overlay...not sure but it looks like it's applied subsequently.

 

Nah Chris, looks like a Spectator-Video with customised overlays.

@Squanchy: The free cam is useful to walk around the track, watch e.g. the start from different angles, etc. etc.

Thank you all. I tried those buttons and they are for different angles and stuff, not really relevant for the free-cam.

Yeah, looks like the free-cam is really for replays. I usually use this angle like in the video for Formula cars cause they all have those horrible giant antennas in your face when in cockpit view. PCars, F1 series, and Raceroom are all strangely faithful to reality in this aspect. Besides, its a cool viewing angle.

 

Maybe he just wanted to point out that the game isn't dead or dying.
