Hi all, Was racing in my league GT3 race last night. Did 60mins practice, 20 mins quali and a 60min race. About 30 mins into the race, braking for a turn, my wheel went light and I couldn't steer... Pedals still worked, as did the paddles... Just no steering, unplugged and plugged in and it was resolved, but had 900* rotation and still felt funny... FFB went light again later on. I had a few issues a couple of weeks ago, which seemed to be a driver issue. It hasn't felt brilliant since but have managed to cope with it. It also randomly goes through the calibration set up even if my PC isn't on... Have been looking at changing my wheel but this was frustrating last night as I ended up last as a result... The unit felt quite warm, but have set my FFB to have little to no clipping It was bought last May (2016) All I can say is that I am grateful there wasn't anyone in front of me when it happened!! Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers!
My Son bought the G29 three Weeks ago. Its an upgrade from the DFGT. The Driver isnt the same for both! He have issues with the Wheel if he disconnect or unplug the wheel from USB or AC, when he is ingame. Sometimes the wheel isn´t centered. Now he always shut down PC, plug in the Wheel, start PC - Wheel is calibrating 2 times - first when Bios Window appears, second if the Windows Screen appears. Then he start RR, everything is fine. Since he does this procedure weve got no Problems with it. System is Win7/64bit. Hopefully this helps you out.
Hi Dirk, Thanks for the reply. It calibrates on load up, twice like you say. It is also fine in game, but last night and a time last week, I have gone to enter a corner and I have no FFB and the car doesn't turn, as if it has disconnected. There is no windows device notification sound and the pedals and the paddles still work... I have raised a ticket with Logitech and will wait to see what they say! Thanks! Dan
Sounds like the AC is gone (only guess), not sure about it if the pedals still work then. Would be nice if you post what Logitech does to support you. Kind Regards! Dirk
Hi Dirk, Will keep you up to date... maybe it is karma for looking at changing wheel and pedals!! LOL! Dan
Hello, this is definitely a problem with the Power Adapter for the G29. All the Buttons, Shifters and Pedals are powered by the USB connection to your PC, which is why they will always work if USB is plugged in. However, FFB and Turning is powered by the external Power Connector. If you can find one, try a different power brick for the wheel and you should be fine. We used the g27/29 for many years on ~50 Simulators, so i am pretty sure thats the reason.
Hi, As far as I am aware it is a USB 2.0. Not had a problem since having the wheel, only in the last 3 or 4 weeks... Admittedly, my racing has increaded due to joining a league but still... Will try and find a new power brick for it... Thanks a lot all!
