    Greetings!

RE: Only for the Cockpit Type: Aluminium T-Slot Extrusion/ Profiles

As suggested in the subject of this post, What is your personal preference regarding the HE Ultimate or Pro mounting options, and why?
    1. Using the original pedal base made by HE?
    2. Direct mount with your own choice of heel plate?
    or
    3. Third party pedal base designed to suit HE Pedal?

    Your input is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

I've decided to buy this pedal plate from SimLab.

Two pics from my old cockpit:

You can mount the USB controller to the pedal plate and hide the cables pretty well:

The reason for me to use a pedal plate is you can cover cables under it to give the cockpit a cleaner look. The black color adds a nice aesthetic appeal to the grey profile parts.

I see it looks very nice. The only issue with black is that it leaves fingerprints or once you scratch it becomes too obvious. Otherwise good choice and thanks for the feedback

Personally, I see no reason for another base plate than the original HE.
On a 80/20 rig (I have the SimLab P1) the plate is not really needed for sturdyness, but as @Ablaze wrote, it is nice to mount the controller box and hide the cables.
As you said, black looks nice, but once you get wear on the finish (and you will if used intensively) it may look less nice. The wear on a silver plate is less visible and looks cleaner.
Will add a pic later - now watching LM...writing during commercial :D

Quick pic just to show what I meant with finish wear.
In new condition, the bottom plate has a kind of matte silver finish. After +1200 hrs the finish is gone and it looks polished now (where you rest your heels). Not too visible though, as opposed to a black version where eventually you would see a big contrast.
