This seems like a glaring omission to me. I thought it was difficult code-wise, but the GT3's have it in their hud, so why not add it to the other cars? Some basic things I'd love to see:

    - lap delta
    - best lap time
    - last lap-time

I agree with you. This should be standard for all cars.

Are you referring to the Motec display in the cockpit?

All cars offer a delta, and show lap times. Go to options / controller settings / secondary options... and find the keybind for 'data display page flip' and map it to a button on your wheel/keyboard. Then, get out on track, and cycle through the pages.

You mean the data display? Note that all displays are multi page and you have to assign a key in the secondary controller options to flip through the pages. Almost all cars have a display that shows the live delta and lap times, on most the timing page would be the second page.

EDIT: nvm, ninja'ed by some smartass. :p

Only problem with this is, in VR it’s nearly impossible to read. Popping the hud up for a second to actually be able to read the Motec info would be great for us VR users.

My opinion is, that I really love it, that I don't need any artificial HUD in VR. Just look at the Motec and everything ist good.
Could be, that there are cars, where it's not that readabble in VR, but for now I haven't find such one.

In training and leaderboard I always have the delta in motec and in race, I have the page with the distance to next car and I'm really happy.

Oh, at least I've forgotten, that I've enabled the timebar on top to see how long the race would go and to see the names of the other drivers around me. But this is only because it is on top and I don't see it normally without looking up.

So it's very immersive without the artificial things on screen (in VR)
