Sorry to ask in the Raceroom thread, but is there a guide to getting this to work with AC anywhere? I think I'm being really dumb. I've copied the folder into AC's app folder, but no joy so was wondering if anyone knew of a tutorial for muppets?

Can someone point me in the right direction to get crew chief to say my name please, I know where to find the suffix etc but I can't find the sound folder to put it in. Running Windows 10 cheers

 

it's usually in C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\CrewChiefV4\sounds\

AppData is hidden - you need to enable 'show hidden files' in windows explorer.

In the personalisations package, copy the 'prefixes_and_suffixes' folder from the 'jim' subfolder in that personalisations.zip into the \sounds\ folder

 

While I'm running Crew Chief as Chris I'm tempted to swap to Jim just to see if it'll go "Damnit Jim (I'm a crew chief)".

I'm a bit daft , can't seem to find the correct folders and/or suffixes to get the game to say my name. I've found the recording of my name in app data but not sure where it goes etc. I assume this will work in single player.?

ok thanks Mr b. I've got the prefixes and suffixes for my name , does this folder go in the sounds folder or into the voice folder. is there any changes needed to config. files

 

In the zip file, find your name folder. Inside that folder is a prefixs_and_suffixes folder. Copy that prefixes_and_suffixes folder to the ...AppData/local/CrewChiefV4/sounds/ folder, so there's a new folder called prefixes_and_suffixes in your sounds folder.

No need to change any config or anything. You can tweak the frequency of personalised messages with the properties screen if you want
