Poor throttle response

    I often feel the engine of most cars are very slow to respond to throttle input. When sitting in neutral no issue but when driving I have to apply the throttle a long time before it is actually needed to have the engine respond. For corner exits I am applying throttle before the apex to have the engine response come in at the right time.
    I have tried adjusting throttle sensitivity but really see no difference. I have ruled out hardware on two counts first is when in neutral sitting idling there is no problem and all other sims are OK.

    Thoughts anyone?

    Modern cars or old cars? If it's the latter, maybe it's because of their non-linear throttle maps.
