1) Link your Steam account to Discord account. 2) in Discord, either on the Raceroom server or in DM with the bot, type this symbol: / and wait for the command list to pop up, select /connect Then you'll be able to register for the event. Keep in mind that when you connect it, everyone will be able to find your in-game profile knowing only your Discord name (even if you remove Steam link afterwards). If you want to avoid it, don't use your main Discord account, instead create a different Discord account. (Upd: Not anymore.)
1) check 2) Fine and now AGAIN, step by step with screenshots at best, explain that to users like me who ha....uhm... don't like Discord, don't like to be forced to use it, don't like to grind through all that fancy (but silly and completely obsolete) "Features", never using 'em anyway - except for to meet at voice channels with friends/ for gaming sessions - and have no (f*ing) clue what you're talking about.... Thank you
Not anymore! This was changed today. For now, this command only sends you your own ranked stats and it sends it to your PM (previously it was posted in whatever chat you used the command in).
You can use this command in any channel on the server, or in the bot's DM. You can find this info in Ranked > FAQ channel, there are a few other posts in that channel that describe how to register for a race and all that. There are two FAQ channels on the server, you need this one:
Thx m8 I'm not particularly annoyed about your decision to go over to Discord (might be best in terms of logistics), but you know, nowadays even tiny Racing Communities start flexing with super fancy websites (even if there's not much going on) with "elaborate" procedures for registration, connected with various Social Media bubbles, Discord, partners, sponsors and whatnot (smoke'n mirrors) - gone are the times where you just enter a tight and well structured Forum with just a couple of relevant links and to just hop into your car after that...
The hours spent organizing these big scale events manually, by hand was just getting out of control. One grid of 30 drivers sure, that's doable, no problem! But organizing it for a dozen grids across 3 regions meant work days of 14-18 hours.. and the amount of times where people sent incorrect info and they got mad because of it.. mails that couldn't be delivered because their box was full.. or got blocked by their provider.. or they wanted to be added after the deadline was passed.. This just solves a lot of issues for both sides; organizer and drivers
I did administrative stuff myself with my former community/racing league- on a much smaller scale in comparison - but even that was enough for a couple of hrs of work every day Anyway, finally I successfully subscribed for the 24h Event, tho it was a kinda procedure until the RR AI decided to graciously accept my registration
After two weeks struggling with PC discord app and mobile discord app i can tell, that it doesn't work. I can't connect my steam account to my discord, and i don't know why . Cause I'm not a senior programmer, I'm just a blondie. So for me this model of registration makes impossible participation in event. Sad
Why are the practice servers private quali? Would be a rare chance to drive together with a few people on track rather than just hot lap but obviously not like this..
