I've got really poor performance in the game now. I usually able to run the game last summer with over 60 FPS, but right now, sometimes I have 30 (!!!!) online! Sorry to say that, but it's ridiculous. (I use medium settings, with motion blur and FXAA off, and no AA, while my screen resolution is 1680x1050.) Last summer I used Win7, right now I use Win10 Pro. You can see my PC specification in my description. If anybody have an idea how to solve this problem, please help!
I would say you should be able to run max settings with that specs. There were some problems related to newest NVIDIA drivers.
Not sure if it's Nvidia or Windows. I had to use the previous Crimson driver because the virtual resolution doesn't work anymore on W10 with my r9 380. By the way i noticed on an old notebook that all win 8 updates have decreased performances at the point that i can't watch youtube video today. Since this time i have no trust in Windows.
The issue with AMD vsr is not down to windows 10 - I had to roll back to 15.12 on windows 7 to get vsr working again. AMD really need to stop breaking their stuff
I asked some of my friends, they are using a Core i5, with worse GPU than mine, and they are don't have any problem - their framerates above 100 FPS in medium settings as well. So I suspect that my AMD CPU is not enough for this game...
I personally think win 10 is great. Other than Microsofts policy, but everyone is spying on you today.
One question: When the framerate drops, is it nailed down to exactly 30fps for a longer period of time? Or is there still a fluctuation in the framerate? If yes, try to INCREASE the graphics, add some MSAA to it, and/or set the game to performance mode in the nvidia control panel (just for this game). Edit: After a quick web search, I found that your cpu is a bit slow. Even an average Phenom II can be significantly faster. At least, it can't compare with an i5, what ever clock it will use. As the game is really cpu depending, I would not expect too much. Especially with many cars in the grid.
That was the answer I was looking for! Thank you. So it looks like I have to spare money for a brand new Core i5...
^^^ what's with the reasonable answer? You are supposed to say "WHAT?!?! I run BF7 on maxx settings all the time!!! No way my cpus are slow!"
Believe it or not, but I haven't got any problem with DiRT Rally, rFactor2 and Assetto Corsa. Or, just say, no problem with DCS:World as well.
I could not believe it myself until I made some benchmarks... Even faster cpus benefit from every mhz you can get out of them when racing in big grids.
