I've been back into raceroom for about a month now and I've noticed I am getting a continual clicking sound in the menus, both in-game and in the store/leaderboard. It normally starts up after a few seconds and there is no way to turn it off. It sounds a bit like a menu 'button' being clicked continually. System specs: CPU: i5-4670K @ 4.00GHz GPU: HD7850 TF RAM: 8Gb MOBO: MSI Z87-G45 (Sound chipset: Realtek ALC1150) OS: W7 Home 64Bit
It seems it's related to the car. The one above was the FR2 @ Spa and I've now switched to the Group 5 Corvette Greenwood @ Laguna Seca and the sound is deeper. Any ideas?
Just tried to find this, but have not been able to do so. I assume you're in the garage menu when you're hearing these sounds?
when I press Esc to go back in the menu, then start the sound until I got back on the track, then it's gone!!
Yes any game menu does it. Even the store or leaderboard. I have the same as G.Deurwaerder - when I return to the track the clicking disappears. I will try to record a video tonight and put it on YT.
I've just had a thought - I have recently only been doing Leaderboard Challenges so I will try the other modes to see if that is related.
OK I've managed to record a video. As usual it wouldn't do it when I wanted it to but after an hour of fiddling I got some footage. This time I actually managed to get it to click on the game screen too - never done that before.
The only clicking noise I heard in the video is the steam screenshot function? (F12 key ) not sure if thats what you guys are talking about
Thanks, the only thing I could hear when I tried to reproduce this was the ambient noise from the wild life, commentators etc. It sounds as if there is some kind of sound effect that is being played while the car is idling. I'll send it over to Anthony to see if he can identify exactly what it is.
The screenshot button was only activated because I chose that button to start the video recording in Afterburner. I later switched it to F4 but that was the button for the auto-gearbox. Just ignore those clicks. The clicking is fairly evident after the video starts and it's not the sound of the tickover.
if you listen carefully, you will hear a sound, that resembles a cable that is not connected propely, so as: crcrcrcrcrcrcrcrcr
The video doesn't really portray the sound too well. In-game it's definitely a continual clicking sound.
