That's exactly what happenned to me. I love RR but as soon as the holiday sale drops, I'll get ACC. It's a lot more expensive than what I paid for RR to this day (starter pack, DTM2013 and Nurburgring legends), but at least I'm hoping that I'll get more than one combination of car/track playable on a specific time frame per week... I mean, last week we had DTM/Monza and WTCR/Laguna Seca with full servers, wich is far more than I'm used to see. It's no value to have that absurd amount of content and throwing it into the sink because there just isn't enough people playing it.

 

Assen is due to arrive soon...This post is several months old. I don't think I will have the same take on the word soon...sry devs

Discord ist zu unübersichtlich... zuviel Schnickschnack....;-)

im Forum hier, hat man wenigstens eine gewissen Einteilung nach Themen und kann zielgerichtet suchen. In Discord ist das schier unmöglich...und es wird viel zu viel sinnlos rumgelaabert. Nur meine Meinung.

Another point might be @sinnfinder that we belong to the older gamer's generation that is not as fed&conditioned on "sensational" colorful PR-driven multi-tasking- mumbo-jumbo like the young ones are

Yeah, if you frequently play other popular titles apart from "old school" simracing, you actually can't escape stuff like Discord.
Not a fan but over time I've got used to it (except for the drivel )

Discord on its own is fine, but not when it's used instead of official forums. To me the problem is it cannot properly substitute forums because these things are made for different purposes. It's forums vs. chats thing. Discord is a chat with a lot of features, but it's still a chat.

1) To have a proper thoughtful (lengthy if needed) discussion on Discord is very inconvenient for both technical and social reasons;
2) information is only divided into several channels which makes it hard to focus on one specific topic and basically impossible if this topic spreads across more than one day;
3) anything interesting or important gets immediately buried under a ton of meaningless chit-chat,
4) on top of that it's all locked behind a login instead of being openly available for anyone on the internet.

Upd: Moving to Discord is a trend in many games and it looks like nothing can be done about it, so we need to accept this is how things are going now. But that doesn't mean that everything's fine with this trend.

 

Discord sometimes fails to do even what it's supposed to do. Someone comes and asks when the servers come back from maintenance. Instead of "there's no information available right now" they are bombarded with "soon" jokes which can be misleading for those who don't know about those.

Its really overwhelming and messy to find info and also maintain a focus when you ask for something

 

Discord is the proof that not always useful and logical solutions succeed.

I have the same problem with Twitch and Discord: at their best, they could be a pretty relaxed environment, but in reality they are 99% childish banter and flooding the feed with spam. But I already feel like a boomer for writing that and I've barely past 30.
