App Offical release of Crew chief version 4 - auto updating and shiny

I didn't get "your out of fuel mate" when I was.
Would be good when driving without huds, so I know why I've stopped.

 

Is there a way to tell when there is a slow car ahead? Like a car with damaged gearbox crawling it`s way to the box? Would be really helpfull if you could implement something like this.

 

Hey Mr b. I was watching a replay of an iracing gt3 race and noticed that the crew chief they use has on screen written text.
I sometimes have a hard time hearing what your saying due to game/engine volume in cockpit mode.
Is this something that could be considered?

Got a small update in the pipeline to make the TTs slightly less rubbish, but only on US versions of windows 10 (direct your frustration at mickysoft, not me for the lack of a male TTs voice in other versions).

I'll also get the car class data updated for the latest content. I also need to do a load of AI driver name recordings but have manflu and sound like Leonard Cohen

Might be possible, the opponent speed is available (or derivable). The issue here is the app doesn't know how fast the cars should be going. Obviously if the car is going 10kph its clearly too slow, but it would have to be done very carefully to avoid false positives

 

Well i have no idea how it works, but as it is now, the app can determine if the distance (in time) to the vehicle in front increases or decreases. I guess it is difficult to determine how quickly the difference between the cars decreases (and what is quickly) and ... well, I just guess, if there is a way to solve this it would be great.

 

But what do you think would happen at the end of a long straight with a sharp corner when you drive behind someone?

Been doing a bit of testing today and it looks like I need to tweak the engine damage sensitivity to better match the new HUD display (think the app needs to warn about damage sooner).

On an unrelated note, its the first time I've sat and actually raced the ai for ages. DTM 92 at Zolder utterly utterly sublime, an absolute hoot and buzz. The app was doing a good job too. Bloody love this game

Everytime I install the lastest update version 4.1.6.2 it seems to install correctly, but when I re open the program it hasn't, and it wants to re run the update again.

 

Most probably its because it is updating in the wrong installation folder. It happens to me too so make sure you manually choose the right folder after the update is downloaded and asks you to install.

 

@mr_belowski, Question , would it be possible for crew chief to use a second soundcard for playback ?

 

A bit of farting about might achieve what you want. Set the default sound output on windows, launch and start crew chief, then change the default sound output to the other soundcard and launch the game.

I never tried it, I'm only guessing that it might work

 

Forgot to start up CrewChief today. Missed it instantly. Donated... again.
Just love it, really adds that little extra that takes things to a new level.

A little FRJ bug?

When I ask 'who's in front/behind?', CrewChief says 'I don't know'.
If I ask 'Where's Menedez?', CrewChief says 'P7'.
I'm in P8 (right behind) so I say 'Who's in front?'. CrewChief says 'I don't know'.

It's like my CrewChief suddenly had one of those split brain injuries...
