3 free new tracks added today to the RC, including Buenos Aires. Also on sale on Steam so a good time to try it out.
Automobilista 2 V1.3.8.0 Release Candidate Now Available https://forum.reizastudios.com/thre...-3-8-0-release-candidate-now-available.25414/
It´s an interesting changelog and new free content is always appreciated but there are a number of long standing bugs they haven´t fixed plus unfinished DLC that has been pushed back time and time again - it´s just weird what their priorities are.
You cant deny they fix issues actually but to me thats still the physics i am not comfortable with still too much lack of weight feel and low in turn inertia People on forum there suggest to tweak custom FFB file but thats time consuming and not so sucessful to reach my liking
We don't know but i'm sure there are reasons why some things take longer. But i think nobody can complain since the sim has not bugs and unfinished features like rF2 for like 10 years has and S397 does not care about those.
Idk since i still have my old cheap Fanatec wheel with like 3NM and have zero issues. FFB is as strong as in other sims. I never used any Custom FFB files. I always use Default+ The Brasil Stock Cars i drove last month from the video in post #460 were a blast to drive and to catch that slide after finish line at the end ^^
Well for every one they fix they create or bring back two old ones so it is a never ending story. Right now the TC ABS disappearing in races and the player´s country flag displayed incorrectly in multiplayer are just two of them. There´s still a bunch of wrong info in the car stats and the Spa and RIng DLCs are missing tracks. Rear tyre temps are also much too oversensitive - after 1 lap or a couple of slides the grip is gone. I was hoping that after 2 years we would have some stability on the physics and car setup front too but that was pure fantasy and it´s not that the changes are all good either as some cars feel better and others feel worse. I can only imagine what the early access release must have been like but the mid 2022 game iteration is still not a polished or finished product. On the plus side, there is a lot more content and now we can access RC to help with bug reporting and testing but I think that until the multiplayer aspect is given an overhaul, it´s an inferior experience to RRE.
Must be a specific car or class not ALL cars since i have not experienced that at all in the cars i drove. Also the new update is available. Maybe you try that first and see if that issue is fixed. Something about ABS is also included.
Yes, I will try the RC and report back. Tyres overheating and losing grip is with Gt3, 4, GrC, GrA and pretty much all the RWD cars with or without the new physics and started I think with V1.35 or 1.36.
Did some testing and it seems like a solid update so far in terms of car physics. Some cars like the M4 GT4, 911 cup 4.0 are still too twitch in terms of steering response and the DTM m3 is more tail happy than the Mercedes but overall a positive experience. The new tracks are nice and Buenos Aires alone has so many different layouts you can spend an afternoon learning them.

Some interesting developments in the pipeline - namely oval racing with cautions and pace car. https://forum.reizastudios.com/threads/automobilista-2-august-2022-development-update.26017/
In case anyone missed it, the big summer update came out on Saturday. While there are still plenty bugs to fix and some basic missing elements in MP mode, the cars are getting better to drive and there is now oval racing with new free content to try. AMS2 is now averaging better player numbers than RF2 and Raceroom and after 2 years is a playable and enjoyable experience.
It's only averaging higher because a big update dropped and inevitably people drop in to try it. Let's see how it's doing in a month's time.
Perhaps. The difference is this time they got record all time high numbers and they are starting to advertise more, so I think it will still be slightly ahead - USA part 3, Spa and Ring historic tracks and a possible official Indycar deal are all coming soon. Mr Momentum seems to have changed address away from RF2 again and RRE is clearly lagging behind now. I don´t much care for night racing or random weather but there are a lot of new features like dynamic track grip, other cars bringing marbles on track and the FCY and low downforce setups for ovals, which are all really worthwhile novelties. With the disappointment of Nascar Ignition and the delay/possible cancellation of the Indycar game, there is an open goal for anyone that can do oval racing well and cheaper than iRacing and that just might be what makes the difference. There´s also a big captive market in PC 1 and 2 players who will surely miigrate to other games when their titles are not sold on Steam anymore next quarter.
