Thanks for all the (cool) suggestions.

A large part of the initial investment is the licensing costs. A lot of the cars we all dream off and really want to have come with a (sometimes hefty) price tag, and thats before starting production. Of course we then would not want one car on the grid, but a few of them to be able to deliver a good on track experience. All in all it stacks up quite fast costs wise, and thats before lifting a finger in production.

So basically, buy what content we can now so @Sector3 can afford to create more later... simple when you think about it :D

So many of these are the same old rehashed things you find on every other sim and or, devs just reusing all their old stuff into something new.

Someone suggested Historic Sports Cars. Nobody else is really doing this well.

Lola T-70s, Porsche 917s & 908s, Ferrari 512s... that era was crazy for the speeds and sheer talent of the drivers simply because the cars were so on the edge. No driver assists, manual shifting, Bias Tires... just everything required skill.

But unfortunately very unrealistic if we're talking about licensed, as Porsche and Ferrari seem well out of reach.

Looking at the brands that have an 'active' relationship with the game, that would rule out 60s and 70s sportscars and the bulk of any Group C field unfortunately.

BMW v Ford touring car wars ('72 or '74) with the odd interloping Camaro or Nissan could work, and I'm pretty sure it would be a first (PCARS could have done something like this but have gone for several classic Fords and BMWs that don't overlap/match up).

Someone above said GT4, which would be nice and potentially have a lot of variety. I'll go one step further and say Continental Sportscars Challenge would be great, and basically be many of the same models/brands as European/Dutch GT4.

From what licenses we've seen before, the M3, 370Z, Camaro Z28.R and Ford Mustang (the new GT350) could all be possible, I don't know about the others like the Aston V8 Vantage or Ginetta but the Porsche could easily be replaced with an RUF 3800S in a semi-fictional GTR4 class.

I assume Super Touring would be ideal then (licensing cost wise) with its Volvos, Nissans and Hondas. Pleeease, Sector3!

Trans Am season 1970 would be pretty cool.

Actually, in case I give the wrong impression, my #1 vote would be for expanding the car choice in existing categories over any new ones. You've chosen some great classes and really diverse models within them for the game, I'd love to see more in any of the current groups:

Group 5 (Zakspeed Escort, Lancia Beta, BMW M1)
    Group A (RS500 or XR4, Rover Vitesse)
    GTR2 (P4/5, SRT Viper, Aston V8)
GTR3 (RUF, Morgan, Bentley, Aston V12)

The Nissan R90CK is close to be completed though (mostly physics and testing remaining) and the plan is to give it some competitors in the Group C class.

About Ferrari and Porsche, I just can say that we're still working hard to get these brands onboard.

60s and 70s sportscars, even if we didn't explore this area yet, the envy is strong and when there is a will....;)

Well I already love what you guys are doing, and that would just be the cherry on top of the perfectly sculpted icing on a superb cake - I won't hold you to that but fingers crossed.

I hope nobody takes that as any sort of confirmation!

I guess one of the great things about Group C as a category was the huge variety it spawned over the years. I guess every major manufacturer was a part of it at some point. All I meant before was that the 962 or 956 was the base of nearly every field, though there are fortunately no shortage of other cars to 'pick' from.

It's surely not a confirmation of anything, just a hint of what is happening in the background, without any certitude about the outcome.

I like very much GTR-X and GT1 series. It will be super if this classess will be added cars later and reworked physics, especially it concerning of GTR-X cars. And more liveries of course

Maybe with the ADAC connection we could see an STW carset someday. Apart from the Peugeots and Alfas, the other manufacturers are already in R3E. I don't know, though, whether the fact that it was sort of competing with the DTM at the time would be a factor. Plus, I've no idea whether those regulations are somehow connected to ToCA and their licencing.

Likely not in the Sector3 Model of Business or plan but there's always the fictitious route like rF2 where the Lola T-70 looks like one but it's their own 'brand' of car. I think Sector3's 'friends' at that 'other' company had an Audi GT car by a different name and that same company and even iRacing uses plays on brands on some tires on vehicles and sponsor's names. i.e. The SuperV8s didn't use Dunlop on the tires until recently and on the C6R it says Morola not Motorola on one of sponsor decals.

    It could be possible.

I'd be more than satisfied with fictitious vehicle names with the actual modeled vehicles. Then again, I don't know implications of using a particular body shape and whether there are limitation/restrictions to that too.
