Discontinued OtterHud - A custom WebHud

Hi Otter,

I'm just wondering, got the latest one, but Windows FireWall said I needed it wants to access something, is there something new that changed that requires this? Or can I just ignore it.

 

That's basically just Windows letting you know that this program wants access to the Network.
It obviously needs it to Communicate with with websocket and the Games web Browser.
It just pops up again, cause of the new Version and maybe a different location you run it from.

If you dont mind, tip the Guy who delivers the 2 Washing Machines then in 1-2 Weeks, k, great!

 

So there is no need to be concerned then. I just pressed the cancel button, hope that doesn't affect anything

 

Actually never clicked cancel there, it's the tool from S3 to read API from Games memory and provide the data over websocket.
If you dont want to run the Hud in a Browser on a different machine, i dont see any problems.
I use CrewChief anyway ^^

 

I am just running the dash.exe so I can save my CPU ^^

 

Crew Chief barely touches it, and it's such a good tool!
But sure if everything counts, dash.exe is probably the "cheapest" way to get the API data

Every now and then I am forced to download again, having to reconfigure everything again.
On the first page it says that if there is an update you don't need to do anything, but in my case I have to do it all over again.

Do you mean the dash.exe or CrewChief? Because you don´t download the OtterHUD itself.

 

Is OtterHUD not own dash.exe?

I don't use crewchef.

it seems that every time there is an update, I am obliged to redo the download of Otterhud / dash, extract it from .zip and run it again

 

You only need a new dash.exe if sector3 makes changes to the API, adding new data as example otherwise the old dash.exe cant provide this new data.
It happened a bit more often in the past weeks, usually it is not that frequent.

 

hello, what can cause this, log in attachment from crewchief:
is combination raceroom, otterhud, crewchief, raceroom while playing exits and only this is in log.

 

Looks like you running the dash.exe while having also the "Enable Webhud Integration" option checked in Crew-Chief
Only use one or the other

 

Hi, thanks for answer, but not. I was running only crewchief or yesterday i tryed dash and disabled crewchief. But i am using too simracingdata client for telemetry.

 

Maybe it is using the same websocket port, 8070?
