I love oval racing but R3E still has a long way to go before ovals. Without a proper tire model it wouldn't even make sense to think about it.
Clearly a "No" to Ovals (except for enhancing tracks like Lausitz or Indy to attract Oval Fans) Being on my first Sim High that time (GTR1&2) , of course I checked out NR by Papyrus and contrary to the common opinion that Ovalracing is dull, after a few laps I instantly realized that it is a very delicate job to circle these cars around the arena but just so totally different to my own approach as a simfan/racer that I didn't spent anymore time and energy to it. The more curvy and challenging a track is in terms of layout, elevations and such, the more I love it (- for that reason Rallydriving is my other favorite area and the absolute peek of rushing into the unknown so to say). On straight Highspeed Tracks like Monza or Old Hockenheim (incl. Ovals) I tend to fall asleep.... And as James said I would appreciate if S3 keeps on focusing on GT, TC and Endurance Racing....
That's right Christian and of that i'm very thankful. If Sector 3 would be a democracy we would probably never seen all this Swedish circuits
In the democracy case we have seen Sebring, LeMans and Road America. OK everyone has to decide for his self, what is more interessting. World known super racetracks or 3rd ligue swedish Mickey Mouse racetracks where i am hardly able to reach 4th gear in a GT.
Today I bought Anderstorp, because I already knew it from Race07 and tried some laps with the Mustang GT3. Now I have to say: It’s a very nice track with very fast parts. Buy it and you will not regret it. I am quite sure, that we get "the big ones" from the USA like Road America, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Co. one day, but you must have patience.
In democracy seems people like to read newspapers in 6th gear in the straights. Check all the servers in all your sims and let me know how many you find with those tracks of pool.
Well, as always they wouldn't have been able to please everyone. If they had decided to create some oval tracks, Patrick and some others would have been over the Moon while others would have stated their lack of interest and asked for more iconic road tracks. Doing the Swedish tracks now was a rather smart move I'd say, they had the time and it's an addition that brings sth to the table that's not there in any other current sim, plus if they follow it up with sth like STCC/TCR it will make total sense. Who knows, we'll have to wait and see. Just rest assured that there's non-Scandinavian stuff on the track horizon, there's only so many Swedish tracks. Whether that will please everyone....probably not. But I'm very much looking forward to what's coming up, including Knutstorp, which is already one hell of a ride. I can only imagine what that'll be like in VR. ^^
Grrm, where's that "jealous" rating? On the other hand, it's already a challenge for my brain on a big screen.
O que falta seriamente na Race Room são os ovais como Daytona Oval Daytona Road e em geral a Nascar completa e suas pistas seria um sucesso absoluto Algum projeto em vista para os ovais??? What is seriously lacking in the Race Room are the ovals like Daytona Oval Daytona Road and in general the full Nascar and its slopes would be an absolute success Any project in sight for the oval ???
Today I bought the all new FR X17 and after that, I did a short testdrive with the Formula US ! I think that car needs a pack of Ovals so bad !! Maybe not the big ones (except Talladega), but more the ovals like Bristol, Las Vegas and the triangular Lausitz Ring !
Yes, why not ? Let's see what we've got the past few months, Swedish tracks.. only Swedish tracks. No this isn't a complain, I love them. But like in this order, I wish we could get some ovals in the (near) future. Just like the idea of having a sequence of Japan-racing tracks too.. And there may be an answer that combines my wishes.. Twin Ring Motegi has a 1,5 mile track, low banking and I think a good oval to start with too.
