    Yes, question is indeed above.
Is it possible to change the values?
The newer VR HMDs are LED panel and the picture is a bit off unfortunately. It's way too bright and the colors could be better.

ETS have those sliders for brightness and it helps a lot.

Even if it's not a slider, but a value somewhere to change, I will be very happy.

can you not tweak it in your graphics control panel and link it to that setup ?

Unfortunately not. Or I can't find it.
In Nvidia driver I can do it only for the monitor, not for HMD.

    OK, I will try.
There is no chance, that there is a value in some of the xml, isn#t it?

There is actually, but you'd have to figure out a good setting for your needs yourself.

In the graphics_options.xml file found in the game's user documents folder, line 40 adjusts brightness and line 41 changes contrast.
By default both these lines have a value of 0.00000000
    upload_2019-9-30_16-28-51.png
The range is between -1 and +1, so setting brightness to -0.10000000 will make the image darker, 0.10000000 will make it brighter. Same principle applies to the contrast setting.

So if you need to, feel free to play around with these values, just don't overdo it in either direction or you end up with a completely black or white screen. -0.20000000 brightness is already way too dark imo.

Waahhhhh, fantastic!!!! This is all I need. (OK, saturation would be more helpful than contrast :) )
    Thank you very much!

    You're welcome. :)
Don't know if it's saturated too much or too little for you, but maybe if you combine some adjusted brightness/contrast with one of the optional moods (realistic f.e.) you get the result you're looking for.

OK, I will try before moaning. I will be back here after testing. Could be helpful for all VR Users with LED Panels.
(They tend to be to bright and with too less colours)

In that case, standard_day mood might be the way to go, then adapt brightness and contrast from there.

    Fantastic!

    These settings:
    <custom type="float32">-0.09000000</custom>
    <custom type="float32">-0.06000000</custom>

with standard day mood looks awesome in HP Reverb!

'standard_day' combined with slightly lower brightness/contrast (-0.05) has made R3E look soooo much better for me. Thanks a lot for the info! (Forgot about the "moods", never knew about the b/c settings.)

Edit: For reference, I'm on Oculus Rift and have also disabled "SPUD".

i know this thread is old, but could you please bring back realistic.mood presetting? colortones were so good in this.
its gone after the update and doing the settings in the xml file is horrible…

Colour in realistic mood was terrible; colour was already undersaturated in default mood and "realistic" just made it worse.
Raceroom has moved in the opposite direction regarding colour tone and rightly so (actually I think some trees still look undersaturated on certain tracks, especially in replay mode).

    i liked it.
looked more like the real world. i play in vr and now it looks highly oversaturated in my headset.
when you look at a onboard cam vid its not looking like a comic book also

    Raceroom realistic mood:
    (0.09-0.19)
Real world footage of Scandinavian Raceway:

(first ten seconds before the visor is dropped)

Ergo, nothing realistic about draining the colour out of the image.

I as well liked the realistic mood. For me, the reds are too red and too bright (I know, sounds silly but my brain tends to focus too much on these saturated red colours, even on peripheral vision. Irl, reds are less "bright"). Just having a setting with a slight sat reduction would be very welcome.

I totally agree with you, I also feel like the reds (banners) and greens (the grass) are just too bright and also the grays (clouds in particular) have a distinct blue tint... It almost makes everything look a little cartoonish. Is there anything we can do to make it look closer to how it was with the realistic mood? Thanks

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

I realized I had two visual enhancements settings (AI brightness and AI HDR) enabled inside the new Nvidia App. Probably they were on by default because I don’t remember ever turning them on.

Now the game looks great, like how it’s supposed to be!
