are you using the proper Track IR or 3rd party software with a Web camera?

I am a bit reluctant to invest the $200 they ask for it over here in Japan:mad:

I use TrackIR but before I sprung for it, I used an app on my phone called Smooth Track. I wanted to make sure I'd enjoy it first before paying for TrackIR. Supposedly, TrackHat is really good as is Delanclip. I bought my TrackIR used for $30 from someone on FB Marketplace about 3 years ago. It's lasted good so far

The wife relented and allowed update to RR3055. Big improvement on the Playseat, although obviously not in the same league as the fantastic extrusion rigs, which unfortunately aren't quite compact enough for my needs.
Next on the horizon, I envisage a DD wheelbase; Fanatec CSL or Moza R9.....

BTW. @ RR Playseat owners: You can mount a regular race seat (Sparco or whatever you like) on the base. It's a welcome improvement cause the original RR Seats (not Tracktime) are of low quality more or less...

Nice, but somehow unsatisfying cause you should take off the price tag from your camera lense :D:rolleyes: [Irony out]

Thrustmaster 599XX Alcantara -> standalone USB Mod

Next week my Moza R9 will arrive, so i had to convert all of my Thrustmaster wheels into USB standalone "QR" versions.
The 300mm Alcantara is my absolute favorite, as you can see it's allready heavy used. Conversion is done with an Arduino Pro Micro, so its recocnized as a gamecontroler under windows. To get enough space for the Arduino inside, i had to remove the pcb board followed by the 4-way switch and had to find a solution to keep the shifter paddle working. I've also added two additional buttons and removed the mannetino, as the 599XX don't had one of those. Shifter paddles have 4 magnets on the outside and 4 magnets inside (each side) to get a nice resistance while shifting. The stupid springs on the inside are removed, no need for them.
I am overall pretty happy with the result, everything works like a charm, and the wheel still looks fresh after almost 5 years now. Pictures:

I still have to cover the backside of the yellow buttons with a pice of Alcantara...
Questions and comments are very welcome!
