Stutter solved! Turns out it is my monitor, swap it over yesterday and stutter is gone! That explains no fps drop or spikes in the timeframe as well as countless setting changes yielding no positive outcome. Thanks for all your input.
So in the end it was your original diagnosis and our original suspicion it was hardware related. Now get a proper hard drive and you will be laughing!
Was using Samsung 32inch TV, switched temporarily to my old work Philips monitor to see if it made a difference which it did, now on the hunt for new decent monitor.
Perhaps the HDMI bus was the culprit or maybe the TV has a higher MS response time? COuld also be some imaging processing going on. Good that it is solved, with a decent new monitor you should be able to get a higher refresh rate and Gsync would be a nice-to-have. This actually taught me that freesync doesn´t work on Nvidia cards if using HDMI, you learn something new every day.
I tried update V1.6.3 and, I don't like the feel as much as the outgoing version. It's just too much sliding for my tastes. I like the U.I. the sounds didn't seem to change. The graphics certainly look better, but the tires don't seem to feel as present as they used to. When I attempted to drive the BMW M4 GT4 around Monza, I never felt connected with the tires. On center the car wandered a lot, and the ragged edge of grip was nowhere to be found when turning. Hopefully Reiza can get this sorted out because the title is definitely a looker, and the new U.I. makes navigating it effortless. After the update, I like it a little less.
It's your Fantac driver who let you think the car is sliding and or a wrong configuration in the wheel software..Update your wheel software and configure it right. As i use Thrustmaster i can't help much, but i read in the Beta forum about this from one guy. Go to the offical Reiza forum and ask friendly there, they will help you. Post wheel/software version and config.
Every lap in Raceroom is the same, not in AMS 2.I have both installed but i sure prefere the detailed FFB from AMS 2.And the evolving track while driving.Raceroom tracks are nice but feel artifical from their surface grain.More surface feeling would be great.
As a Beta tester myself for 4 years i still would recommend to post it in the forum as this is not normal. The guys with the same wheel could surely give some tips about how to set up the ingame settings as your driver setting. Won't coast you nothing Edit: I could although be related to your camera settings/headmovement (legacy) and camera leaning/look to apex.I have it all set to 0 (zero). As far as i remember. but that "slidey" feeling is gone or at least turned down not to be noticed.
I´d say of the cars I tried, the Caterham 620R and Corvette C3 convertible are nice. Some of the others are a bit meh and there is still the issue of excessive tyre wear and temperatures, which cause a vicious circle of less grip and more wear. Current RRE physics on most cars are more to my liking.
in AMS2 1.6, I tried Porsche cup 991 and GT3 cars on Bathurst, RRE are way better in physics. I have requested refund.
I forgot to point out why I am not playing AMS2..It might not be correct setting, I only tried for 30min in Porsche 911 cup and AMG GT3 in Bathurst 1. I could not set the view of the car same view as in Raceroom, I am using a 65 TV. Despite I have set the correct POV (70), and adjust the seat position, the view is still not correct 2. The tyre sliding noise is lacking detail, I need this sound to tell me whether I am not the limit. In Porsche 991 cup without ABS and you have locked up, the sound is not natural 3. In Raceroom, if you brake in downhill, you will lock up more easily. This is not the case in Bathurst in 991 in AMS2, whereas Bathurst is a track will steep uphill and downhill 4. Porsche 991 cup is too responsive in steering.. My steering sensitivity is 50% and steering lock is 20 degree. This could be setup issue. 5. As some youtubers have pointed out, the rear end just lost little bit and sudden start to grip again. Raceroom is very progressive here
I won't judge your decision or the reasons for it. Driving another sim is like learning another language. If you're happy with RR it's fine and RR has enough content. But you'll miss a wide variety of racing if you won't make the effort and give other sims a serious try.
