De-necroing this thread to add some importance advice for anyone who lands here!

I only use the QR2 Pro (Gold coloured) and QR2 "aluminium" versions.
When putting these in upside-down the pins are a minimum of 4mm above the plastic below no matter what angle I try to shove it on or how hard I push because the quick release is "keyed" to prevent it being pushed on upside down. I cannot speak to this being the same for the QR2 Lite but like sticking a cotton-bud in your ear, remember to stop pushing when you feel pressure.

The reported scraping pins would seem to indicate one of two things.

1: The QR2 Lite in question is cracked because it is allowing the pins to come into contact with the female connector before it centres. No matter which angle you shove on the wheel, the QR2 system will force the steering wheel to centre over the connector before it comes anywhere near it! After that if it is upside-down, it will not go on any further. If it is the right way up, it will slide in perfectly.
2: replacing a QR1 with a QR2 was done without fully following the installation manual. One thing of which to be wary is failing to to use the replacement spacer and screws from the QR2 kit when replacing a QR1 on the wheel-side. If you fail to RTFM and do not follow the instructions on this point, bad things happen. The manual actually warns bad things will happen, so no excuses!
One very excited member of our league swapped the QR1 for the QR2, did not use the replacement screws, did not change the spacer, and so bent almost every pin through over enthusiasm when shoving the wheel onto the wheelbase for the first time.

The QR2 can take a lot of punishment but not following the installation details to the precise letter when replacing a QR1 WILL lead to pin damage.
