    Hi Guys,

Prior to the glorious graphics update, i was getting around 120fps (with the original/workaround dxvk 'dll). Since update, i'm getting around 45-60fps.
Nothing has changed my end configuration-wise, i just download the new update as instructed. I've tried almost everything suggested on the Raceroom forum, to no avail.
At this point, it literally feels like i'm the only person who has reported a drop in fps since he update, but i cannot understand why. My system specs are:

    RTX 2970 Super
    Ryzen 7 5800x
    32Gb RGB Ram

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

I've tried damn near everything, but the fps drops considerably - even with a 12 ai car grid on medium specs. Very frustrating indeed.

In nVidia control panel set power management for Raceroom to "Performance".
In BIOS check that Resizable BAR is enabled.

What options did you try after the update? You now have three different options:
    - normal game
    - normal game with your manually added DXVK (of whatever version you prefer)
    - DXVK option in Steam launch (which uses DXVK 2.4)

    So, to your questions:

"In nVidia control panel set power management for Raceroom to "Performance".
In BIOS check that Resizable BAR is enabled."

    - i already set power management to Performance
    - Resizable BAR now only supported on 3xxx series an upwards, not on my 2070 Super. I did enable it in bios, but when i rebooted, it was still 'Disabled':

Also, my in-game graphics settings are mainly set to medium, until i get a handle on what's going on

Your graphics card is only connected via 4 PCI lanes. The text "@ 4 2.0" under bus interface. This severely limits performance in raceroom. Make sure you used the proper high speed slot of your Mainboard or remove and plug the card in. Maybe it got partially loose.

The version 2.0 is also suspicious that is from 2007. "@ 16 3.0" is expected or higher version.

I tried RR twice and had very improved fps at 160 - 180. Game looks much better. So I send a well done to the devs.
    But...
First try I had a freeze and I had to reset my pc.
Second try I had a fatal BSOD and my pc is dead.:(

Thank you for your insight, but tbf, I've never had an issue with any other sim, especially not after an update!

Try to take your GPU off the MB and put it back, maybe there's just a poor contact that prevents the bus from working properly. You should normally see PCIe x16 3.0 (or maybe 4.0) @ whatever. Even if it doesn't cause issues in other sims, it's still a hardware issue in your PC, so it's better to try and fix it anyway.

due to the old dx9 engine RRRE is very sensitive to pci-express bandwidth (transfer from system memory to gpu memory). Some of the work for the graphics update / new dxvk etc. could have increased that bandwidth, hence you see lower performance. This wouldn't be an issue for the vast majority of users, as they are typical on pcie @ 16 3.0 or higher, but your config is almost 8x slower than what would be normal, so it's really easy you notice any changes.
    • PCIE @ 4 2.0 is 2 GB/s
    • PCIE @ 16 3.0 is 15.754 GB/s

gotta agree with the others here. You are either running the GPU in the wrong slot or its not seated correctly as it should be running at x16 not x4.

But on topic aswell im also in the same boat and since the update my FPS as taken a massive hit. Specs below
    i7 13700k
    3080ti
    32gb
    installed on SSD
in dx9 im getting about 40-50fps where pre patch i was getting 90fps constant (i lock my fps) with no hitches. Ive tried DXVK and at 1st was a stutter fest but someone mentions on the discord to manual install a update ( shouldnt have to do this as it really should be the lastest anyhow) and that worked but cant use ReHud now as it wont go into borderless mode and ive tried them fixes aswell and nope dont work. But in DX9 on the same settings i used before which is 8xMSAA ( 8xSSAA is terrible for performance) and ultra all the rest im lucky to get good fps so no idea whats going on.

It'is possible that the problem you have with the PCIe lane is due to not having the motherboard drivers installed correctly. I would also check the BIOS menu.

can you do a couple of things

redownload the dx9 library from microsoft, run it
in nvidia control panel create two new profiles , one for the dx9 64 exe, and one for the dxvk exe ... and set to prefer max performance

id also run a file check in steam , just incase
if your card supports rebar , maybe set that in the bios

    Hope this helps

Just checked my motherboard, which is a msi b450-a pro max, which has:
    upload_2024-9-8_0-46-26.png

My 2070 Super is plugged into the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. So that should be the faster of all PCI slots on my motherboard yes? And you're saying i may need to just 're-seat' the card?
