We are currently working on a new feature that will highly improve our physics and sounds. The New Transmission Model is simulating the drivetrain elasticity of real race cars. As a result the cars will not only behave more realistically during shifting and coasting, but will also sound much more dynamic. All our cars will receive an update with this feature, as soon as we are happy with it. Check out this WIP video showing the current state of the feature, and comparing it to the old transmission model and the real life reference.
Another milestone on the road to the perfect sound. Thanks to @Anthony Monteil, the sound guru, and as mentioned in the Dev stream, also to @Robert Holm, for coding this feature. Fantastic work, guys.
These are the best sounds I've ever heard in a sim!... watching the video gives me goose bumps! I can only congratulate @Anthony Monteil for this work and appreciate the efforts invested into this!
Great job congratulations: very impressive sound, simulation and 'more' immersive in this way. other terms are available in Italian...!!
Will this mean that downshifts won't be as forgiving? As it is now you can get away with cranking down to first gear as long as you don't go from last to first in one go..
Just amazing, best sounds in any SIM! Some sort of an award needs to be handed out to you guys, realistic sound is too often neglected. Now, please hurry up and get this to us ASAP!
Just wow wow wow! R3E is in a league of its own when it comes to sound. And I love this telemitry! If there is any way you could provide us with this it would be incredible. It can help you so much to improve your lap times.
Just want to leave my comment about how much I'm impressed by the effort the dev team is putting into this sim. I really didn't know that the dev team is working on details like these. The more I notice such things, the more I love R3E. This game gives me so much back, never had this kind of fun playing a video game. Worth every Euro I spend on it. Sound is one of the most important things to create a good immersion. Outstanding job, outstanding!
