Weird, I'm not sure why these two cars would trigger more reverb than the others. I assume this happens in cockpit view?
played around with this car last night. Safe to say its now in my top 3 cars on R3E (hint might be my profile pic). I found I had to switch out of cockpit mode though and I never do that normally. On a single 24" monitor there was just too little visible road in the windscreen although I imagine that is true to life in those cars.
because of reasons.. maybe because of aerodynamics and weight distribution (driver position) and maybe safety reasons...
Your the man Mr Monteil, I'm lovin' all the Prototypes 1 & 2, the Radicals are fantastic, really digging the new wind sounds! Was waiting for game to load tother day with h/phones on and I swear I entered a commercial for Raceroom, with the new music playing while I was adorning my gloves, felt just like I'd become part of the Sim Gonna have to lay off the Morphine, that's taking immersion to far or is it, try it if you haven't yet bloody marvelous, sounds in this Sim are the numero uno imho!
My sources are weak, but anytime i hear ISRTV talk about Porsche licenses they seem to mention that developers complain about the price. The EA exclusivity deal doesnt help either
AFAIK the Porsche license is this expensive because EA has the exclusive rights and if you want to get a Porsche license you have to buy it from EA. And EA sells it at hilarious prices. Rumors are that the exclusive EA deal runs out this year, but I don't know how valid these rumors are. But I also remember that somebody from @Sector3 mentioned on this forums that Porsche isn't too happy with the EA deal anymore too.
Hmm interesting knowledge, thank you for that. That all makes sense, so that is probably closer to how it actually is. I could totally see how Porsche making less money off licenses but having more out there, would be way more beneficial to their marketing department. hopefully they switch up that EA deal.
To sit on the license for this long, cranking out whatever lows Need for Speed has hit, without a whiff of Porsche Unleashed 2. I'd be mad too!
Are there any plans the two P1 prototypes (DMD P20 & Mistral 530) also equipped with a fin behind the cockpit? Just as it has the Audi R18 TDI Ultra. The vehicles would be so more like Modern LMP-1 look, and bekommse the same style, like the Audi.
Personally, I would definitely hope not. Those shark fins look hideous on all the most recent lmp1's. Really not a fan of the past 5-6 yrs of lmp's that have been running as much as I love those cars in general. Personal feelings aside though, the R18 is from the 2011 era, and those 2 others are as well I believe. During that season, not many cars besides the R18 and Peugot 908 had those shark fins. So, it still fits the era to have cars without those fins on the back. Would love to see that Peugot added though. Quite a lovely car to compete directly with our R18
I'd have to agree with both. Although I don't like the looks of the fin, I feel they need to be in place to make the fantasy prototypes more believable.
Great car, but just one quastion. How close is multi-class offline racing? I mean not asking for a specific date or anything, but is it ''in the future sometime'' or in one off the next updates?...
Just a complete guess here as not much has been said about it, but I would imagine it is a ways off still. It requires a ton of work to function properly. Main culprit being AI work. They need to know which class they are actually racing against and let faster cars pass without issue. Along with being competitive and not causing wrecks. This is truly a tough task to successfully complete. Not only that, but UI work needs to be done too, to show which car in which class is in what position. Similar to how iRacing differentiates the classes by different colors in the UI/HUD. Results screens would need to be redone to properly display results for the mixed classes. And whatever else actually needs to go into it. No idea how far along it is, but I would say that it probably wont be here in the next patch
Bugger ! was looking forward to that thinking it is only weeks away ... Oh well thanks for the headsup. Nate do you know of any talk about implementing VR since the lauch of Rift & Vive ? I asked in the VR thread but got no answer from J-F.
Just my guess that it wont be here in the next patch. Dont know when the next patch will be, but if it is 6 months away, then perhaps Doubt the next patch will take that long though. About VR, no idea really. Devs dont really discuss plans like that with us. It's more like "Hey grunts, we are working on the AI, you need to test 12 hr endurance races with them to make sure they dont break at all!" Then I basically respond, "But boss, I am too busy dreaming about all the different ways I will give @Ronin_GTDave a good shelacking in our next race " For reference, see here But yeah, not sure if that would be something that is very easy to implement. Especially since R3E is on DX9. Id imagine it would be very intensive to have to redo everything to get it to function. Although, I dont know a whole lot about this sort of stuff. Cheers
Thanks for the info Nate. Been trying to come to grips with this Audi R18 at Nords today ... it is quite tricky trying to find the right balance for a fast setup. Off topic but I see there is another set of cockpit cams that you need to press Home key to access. Does anyone know how to remap that to another key ? My Wireless keyboard does not have a Num pad or an Home key so I am locked out of using them until I can find some work-around. I tried looking in the options but couldn't see this key mentioned anywhere. Surely it is not hard-locked to only the Home key ? If it is maybe there is some file I can try to edit ?
A very nice car and to show this off I made this "Car Porn". I love the Car Porns from JP Performance and I thought "Why only in reality? Why not in a game?" so I made this. I will continue this series for new (cool ) released cars and try to improve my Adobe Premiere skills.^^
