Does it only happen in ACC, or in other sims also? Could you also please upload the .log file?

Edit: you might also try to hit this button in the settings to restore the default collumns, maybe that will help

no problem. Yes, I can do when I'm at home.

 

Unfortunately, I only drive ACC at the moment. Here is the last log file. It is the 09/30/24, from that day is the picture too.

There is an error in the file: "Unable to find cell template PositionColumnTemplate" (at 18:36:34.2296)

Looks like your version is older (possibly you had to revert because of some issue). That column was done differently in the older version, and it cannot handle the settings that were kept from the newer version. Using the button
above should fix the issue if you want to continue to use the older version. Or you can try to update: https://gitlab.com/winzarten/SecondMonitor/-/package_files/150723379/download

 

Ok thanks. Yes, I have a problem with the new versions. Since the integration from LMA, I have to do with jerking in acc.
Not with the old Versions. I'll try your suggestion.

 

The software is amazing and very well done. On the option Map is there a chance to have a option for transparency so can be used together with the broadcast tool of raceroom ?

 

I will think about that could work. Possibly with a stay on top feature.

- HTML is currently not planned, but in short horizont I plan to add a REST api for the app, so somebody more familiar with web development, might be able to use it to create some, atleast presentation UI, for the app.

- The multclients is enabled by checking the checkbox in options, then multiple clients allows Data Broadcaster connect to the same Remote Client (the PC that has the UI). On the UI it should then be possible to switch between the sources, but they need to be in the same session for it to work correctly.
It is still early steps in something that would ideally in the end allow for single guy (race engineer) to monitor multiple drivers. In some sims it can be quite buggy and doesn't always handle session change well. That's why it is currently disable by default.

 

Hello,amazing app,really love it.
Just wanted to ask if it would be possible to change or having an option where the car name for Assetto Corsa is taken from the game/content manager?
As it looks like at the moment the app is taking the name from the car folder name?
For example,I have a car folder called msf_mclaren_mp4_19 and that's how the app is showing it on the screen but in game/content manager I have renamed the car in just mclaren_mp4_19 so would like the app to follow the game if possible?

Hi!

I tried to use SecondMonitor with Assetto Corsa and the latest Content Manager. When I launched Assetto Corsa SecondMonitor told me that it needs to install a plugin. I confirmed and it installed its python-app. However now none of the python-apps work anymore (neither does SecondMonitor show any data). Even after removing the SecondMonitor app all the other python-apps I had running don't appear in the game anymore.

What else does SecondMonitor do that might break the python-apps? They still work when I launch the game with the official launcher but they don't when I use Content Manager (and yes, python-apps are still enabled in the settings).

The name is provided by AC shared data. I don't know if changing the name in content manager will also change it in AC, and its shared data.

The app just creates folders
apps\python\SecondMonitor

and copies these files into them:
apps\python\SecondMonitor\SecondMonitor.py
apps\python\SecondMonitor\config.txt
apps\python\SecondMonitor\smshared_mem.py

apps\python\SecondMonitor\stdlib64\_ctypes.pyd
apps\python\SecondMonitor\stdlib64\ACInternalMemoryReader.dll

Nothing more is being done, and the app doesn't have the functionality to anything more than file copying (it cannot i.e. modify already existing files).

Considering the apps work from the official lanucher, there is something weird going on, but I have no idea what.

My second monitor install does not seem to know the tracks in R3E when making a championship? is this going to be updated? The manual assumes that it should know the tracks in the sim

 

There is not much I can do, I use the car name that is reported by AC.

The app should show track that were played while the app was open. It doesn't have any build-in db, but rather builds its inventory on the fly. That's why there is the "Other Track" option, so the championship functionality can be used even before this inventory is build.

 

I see, thankyou. Great feature, is this why it starts off a circle track and then updates to the track map while driving?
Will the tracks I enter manually, be named whatever I called them forever then? Will second monitor know I am on the same track next time? Thanks

 

Yes, the app requires one valid lap to build the map. This way the app doesn't need update when a new track is released, and can also work with any mod map in games that support mod.

What's entered in the championship screen is just for the scope of the championship, and is just for you reference, so you know on which track you planned to run the even. The app doesn't really care, and you can run the event at any track you want, should you change your mind.

 

Excellent, thankyou sir. By the way, i noticed that the setup car screen doesn't open for me. Is that because it needs data from racing first? I will keep checking. But I thought there was setup suggestions you made part of the app? Or not? Regardless still a great tool.
