News Time Attack Ranking

Well, I understood it like this:
- All users get a hidden rating, based on their performance in each competition, based to the gap of the leader.
- The hidden ratings of each competitions are accumulated and averages are formed. (I think/hope in this step it contains a way to filter unreasonable times).
- Now, every user has a rating
- Now they get listed by rating highest to lowest
- Top 10% of this list get A.

 

Well, this way it seems to be better for your rating to skip hillclimb competitions because the gap to the leader tends to be huge there.

 

I am new to competitions. I joined 8 competitions three weeks ago, 1 competition in December, and today I have a ranking A, which is surprising. My gap to the top leader is mostly around 1.5 to 4 seconds behind.

I thought I belong to B, but now I am A, so happy.

 

Hi all - first post!

I just wanted to understand something in relation to the time attack ranking. I've been playing for around 6 months now and yet to receive a rank. I've participated in quite a few competitions now over these 6 months, yet no rank has been applied. Not setting the world on fire with my times, but usually in the top 100 ranking so I'd expect something to be shown (rather than a grey circle )
How often is the rank updated?

Only a few times a year. Also the until just two weeks a go this year had no leader board competitions, so there also was no need in updating. But yeah. the ranks are just updated once in a while. maybe 2 or 3 times a year.

 

Thanks for the reply. That's disappointing how often they are updated. Is this common knowledge?
And also are they specific competitions only that determine this rating?

 

The results of the leaderboard competitions give you a rank (if it is updated someday^^). But it is basically not used for anything. It is just existing.
Well, the only "real" purpose now is that the vrp prices for the premium challenges are distinguished between the 5 ranks.

 

How do I know I am being credited for all my challenges in competitions?

Heaven knows what the formula is to increase your time attack rating . I had a rating of 1552, entered 2 competitions and ranked in top 12 %. Now have a rating of 1545 ????????????.
Is it possible that your ranking can increase and your rating decrease?

 

Your rating is affected by ranked MP races, not time attack. Time attack affects your licence (A,B,C,D)

 

Time attack rating also exists.

 

For some reason, the time attack rating always stays close to 1500. Even the best drivers only have a time attack rating of 1600. So 1545 sounds fairly realistic in your case.

When profile pages got updated, or very shortly after that.

 

Are time attack ranks working correctly at the moment? I just saw i now have rank D despite finishing all my competitions over the past year in the top 2% and averaging like top 0.8-0.9%

 

How many competitions did you do recently? Older competitions aren't being used for calculating your rank anymore.

 

None within the last 4 months. But i tought if that was the issue then id get no rank at all rather than D but yeah maybe D is correct then

 

Maybe you entered a single competition with a bad result in the meantime, otherwise you shouldn't have a rank anymore.

 

I didnt unless loading up a competition without ever setting a lap time also counts. That i did do but would find it very weird if that was taken into account because it would completely skew the ranks
