No it plays no role. After the update the email in your r3e account is only used for newsletters and to be able to join competitions.

 

Lol, I was wondering too, why this simple info thread still gets so much attention.

I think you are misinterpreting "Link your Steam account to your RaceRoom profile" mentioned in the first post with there being a patch coming soon. The patch isnt today, as far as I know. Sometime this week still seems to be the goal as Christian pointed out

ok so how the hell do u know if your account is associated with ya steam log in when u cant even get it to work ...
