I somewhat agree with TeddyBear. I've been driving the DTM95 exclusively since they were launched and the ffb on the suspension, tyre and car weight felt fantastic! I just don't get the same exhilarating feeling with these touring cars.

But in saying all that, I've never driven either of them in real life so I don't really know how they are suposed to feel but I'd expect a DTM to be lighter, stiffer and more responsive compared to a Super Touring car.

Doesn't seem to have affected my frame rate unfortunately.
Situation is a bit strange; on some parts of the track (near Parabolica for example) I get great FPS, no matter if I use auto-exposure or not, but elsewhere it goes down the drain (T1 chicane is particularly bad).
On other tracks that I've tried the frame rate is rather variable but considerably higher, even with auto-exposure on the 200% maximum setting.

in fact the Super Touring Audi A4 is very low in feeling compare to the DTM95 Alpha 155 TI, both AWD, but if you use the Volvo S40, you will have a good feeling, what I have expected.

about the graphics, I found the Super Touring car textures with not so much reflection like the others cars, DTM95 or BMW M2.

I think te intensity of the colours of the cars is the same whether it's a sunny day or fa ull cloudy day is set. They look better on a sunny day set at 12 noon but when set for a cloudy day their continued bright intense colours make them look cartoonish. I don't beleive their colour intensity changes with the time of day either!

So think the car models are not reacting to the "point of light / sun " position! eg theirs no shade on the side of the car opposite to where the sun light is coming from.

So I think maybe it's a lighting problem as opposed to a reflection problem.

    This 100%.

I will never use overcast in this game because the lighting in that condition look super flat and cars absolutely give the cartoonish, almost cell shaded look. With sun it looks good, even great at times.

Started a "little" championship against the ai. 14 rounds, 25min each race. Only ST. First race at Most was a really good door to door clash. Love it. Next is Brands Hatch Indy.

They're great a Brands Hatch Indy.
I think the AI for these cars are some of the best in the game.

I’ve been training the Adaptive AI on several tracks, and I’m pleased to report that so far, I haven’t encountered any situations where the AI feels unrealistically faster than me out of a corner. In fact, they’re proving to be quite challenging to overtake!

There are a few corners where the AI is slightly slower, but not to the point where overtaking becomes too easy. You still need to set yourself up properly and get a strong exit to make a move. Honestly, if it weren’t for those slightly slower corners, overtaking them would be nearly impossible!

Thanks for those interesting information Matt.
I will see how it behaves but so far it's challenging and good all in all. Very racey.

3 weeks of vacation now and it looks like Raceroom can get on the top of the sims I've played most. For 6 years there is rF2 in front (around 1,450hrs) but this Touring Car monster title is only 150h away from the top. It's gonna be hard within 3 weeks maybe, :D, but I see no reason that can be prevented :)

edit: I love the Bimmer. But all cars are fantastic. What a great pack.

    Yup
Can’t remember the turn number, I saw your post on it and I agree and they’re a little faster in some so it balances out. I can overtake them there but they get me back over there creating some great scraps.

    @MattStone
May I ask how exactly is the procedure looking like when you train the ai? I'd like to try this as well.

I do 5 to 6 x8 lap races, set my starting position as 8th.
    • You must start a new race session each time, no race1/ race2 sessions as the AAI only adjust to the new level in a new session.
    • The ai levels can change dramatically in the first 3 races.
    • Before starting a race, practise the track until you can get fairly consistent lap times.
    • Starting 8th means the Adaptive ai learns your race pace.
    • I think aai records your last 5 Laps (excluding lap 1) and rejects the worst lap hence why I suggest 8 laps
    During the Race
    • Drive consistently, don’t try and do qualifying laps
    • If you have a crash before you finish the 2nd lap, restart the race.
    • Don’t defend too hard, allow faster ai to pass you.
By the 5th-6th race, the ai should feel pretty good.

The aai file actually saves your last 10 laps. Not sure if it always omits the first and worst laps, still looking into it (it sometimes saves my first lap, maybe if i didn't do enough laps). When there is no data available/fresh aai file, aai starts at level 85 and the more laps you do and the more consitent you drive the faster the aai adapts to the correct level. So for me it usually takes only 3 races for the perfect level for example. But that is only the first time. after i did that i just jump into the next race and the aai usually jumps around my level (so my level is about 100 and aai will be between 99 and 102).

It is especially worth noting that the more data is saved, the less races you need to do.
What i mean is there are basically 3 waysfor aai to adapt:
    a. same class, same track. This is stright forward and basically what everyone does to start training aai.
    b. same class, different track. If aai file contains data from the class already, it will try to adjust to that on the new track.
    c. different class, same track. Same as before.

Maybe d.: different track and different class. this is still under investigation because i did a race on a track and with a class i had no data yet/not driven yet and it still adapted directly correct.

Thanks guys. 5 races in the books on one track. There is clearly progress with the ai. Curious to see how that effects the next race which I will do on a new track.

@fireballr18 Just keep in mind that Adaptive AI doesn't change AI behavior. All it does is select AI difficulty for you. The only unique thing it does, which you can't achieve with manually selecting AI strength, is when you run a championship and AI performance is uneven on the tracks that you selected, like, on track A you would like 102 strength, but on track B it's 96. With thoroughly trained Adaptive AI you'll get close to your desired AI strength on all tracks, but with fixed AI you'll be stuck with the same AI level for all tracks in your championship.

Thanks @Maskerader for the heads up.
Yes I'm aware and I hope it will help me a lot to have a balanced ai for all tracks. This is what nearly all racing titles struggles more or less.

Would've been great if AI laptimes for all combos were stored on the server. If the game still tracks our stats then it would all be set up for good driving experience and you wouldn't need to run tons of fake races just to build up the data base.

In that case, I would suggest a new feature called
"Adapative AI + some numbers you specified"

This should easily be done. It will make me stay more in front of the pack

I have same experience with you.
Also, the E36 is super easy to flip over
