Ovals have their charm James, but this thing looks based on the DW12 with the road aero package(s?) anyway so rest assured this thing is for road racing.
I vote Longbeach for them, especially seeings iracing never finished their version, and PC2 will have it, would love it here the most.
It is a very cool announcement but yes, handicapped by the fact that we are stuck at just 4 american tracks for a long time now... : /
similar to the late 1990s cars ... Yes for sure, we get the road course version, but it’s a racing sim not the real life. I see no problem for some nice oval races with these new R3E beauties. ... dreaming These are the tasks of Alex's team
Only 4 poor America, one and a third for us Brits, fancy a bit of beefing out of international circuits is required, jeez, we're (UK) gonna be out tracked by Sweden shortly, Sweden or are all the Brit gems being saved for GT3?
Give me Daytona with this car, and the AI displaying that it can deal with ovals, and we may start negotiating a deal. But AI and ovals are a different thing than AI and roads courses or twisted racetracks. For ovals, the best title I know still is Nascar 2003 and mods for it.
Next week? I want it now. *stomps feet* It seems to be just me but I love these new indycars. Like a hybrid prototype/open wheeler. Great racing too that I can enjoy in Australia thanks to indy posting full races on youtube. Way less of a snooze fest than watching Mercedes cruise to another victory in F1.
I remember hearing Aussie V8s mentioned in a dev stream a long time ago, so they might be a thing one day? Would be nice with Phillip Island added to the track list.
Nice, the original of the FR US is the most competitive open-wheel series in motorsports. Perfect for R3E Great WORK ! *I hope for the near future: I can battle with the FR US in Watkins Glen.
Forgive my ignorance or if I've missed something - but will these will be fictional cars based on current US Indycars OR actual US Indycars?
As per the title of the thread, these are the Formula RaceRoom US (fantasy) cars. They would be called Indy Cars if they were officially licensed. So, they are based on the real deal. Much like the FR2 is based on a gp2 car, the Formula Jr. is based on a Formula Ford, and the FR3 is based on a European F3 car.. Scrub those thoughts entirely from your mind. Highly unlikely to happen. This was one of the things that was very briefly mentioned long ago, that was shared far too early. The license never materialized and that is unlikely to ever change.
Speaking of the Formula Raceroom US vs the actual Indy cars, I know we don't have things like fuel mixture in R3E so alot of the information would be superfluous but I really wish we had some other information displayed where the second rev meter(The blue bar) is placed in the FR US. Nothing that'll stop me from enjoying the car but still something that'll remind me it's not the proper thing. Ideally one day we could get the "proper" display dash. Nowhere near the annoyance the "generic display" has been though, so glad that'll be a thing of the past going forward with the M6.
