Wow, best group 5 when we get them, from all the modern racing sims, i'am very impressed! Thank you sector 3 for bringing us these legendary and amazing beasts. I know we can be very satisfied now, but my optimistic wishes for the future are to see also, or one of them: - Ford Escort turbo gr5 - Lancia Beta turbo gr5 - BMW CSL gr5 - BMW M1 gr5 Don't missunderstand me, iam very very satisfied now, but these cars would nearly complete this class and is a dream from myselve.
Based on this list on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_5_(racing) There are actually more cars that can be added to R3E and I am really looking forward to see Lancia, Toyota and Mazda in the future. The current list is great in my opinion and I am looking forward to the pack.
Being a self proclaimed Mazda fanboi ( ), I would love to see one of the Mazdas recreated in R3Es Group 5 class, generally though, there are some really nice G5 cars on that list, probably something to suit everyone.
I guess, lets have the the 5 new cars first. Then only think about more cars for G5. Lets not turn this into a car request thread. but but but, i want to see Group C in R3E too.
A lot of nice cars in that list! I didn't know that there were so many. Lancia Stratos Turbo Mazda RX-7 252i TOM'S Corolla G5 (A40)
That Mazda would surely be a nice addition with that rotary engine made to S3 standards! And the Lancia Stratos! I'm really excited about the coming Gr.5 cars, the Nissans appears to be quite the beasts to tame! Massive Turbo lag is something special. The sound and feel of the big V8's without mufflers will surely be delicius!
Oh the Stratos ! Only know the Rally Version (you can see its tail on the photo ), didn`t know it was in use with G5 as well...cool
If you follow the link above the picture you can read that it was actually raced in Gr.5 events as part of testing in 72-73 before it was homologated to gr.4 rallying in 74. The two Turbo charged Gr.5 cars were built when Fiat decided to replace the rally stratos with the Fiat 131 Abarth. One of the cars caught fire and was destroyed at Zeltweg.
The Malboro version is actually the G5 version. It is wider and longer than the rally version with massive splitters that G5 has. The rally version doesnt have the splitters as far as I know. At least for me, G5 cars always looked like the more aggressively shaped version of the same car I see elsewhere. Most of them has massive splitters, air intakes and appropriately large spoilers. Also, really fun but challenging cars to drive in many games and also the 2 G5 cars in R3E now.
I like the sound of this : "And to complete the Group 5 Line Up (for now)" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more GR.5 is always good
