Dropping a note to the devs, since the issue with DXVK has resolved itself on my system, I am enjoying the game. The graphics while not massively changed, is changed enough to not look 2005 anymore and when I have mates over its now my go to sim to have running on the rig because it "just works", triple, trackir, vr etc all run fine on my 3080ti/i9/64gb system, where other sims can tend to hiccup on my now aging system.

If anything can the devs look at an offline mode to counter the extremely slow load times which I believe are network related, loading the same track and cars can be a few to MANY minutes slower depending on ???? some network condiction, can we have an offline switch for single player so stuff can load faster?

Thank you so much for this from 15th October update:
Rendering - Fixed an issue where some objects could appear or disappear around the edges of the center monitor on Triple Screen setups with high angles set for side monitors

No more popping in and out objects. This was a massive immersion breaker for me. Good to see that it is fixed

We are patient, but does anyone know anything about the manufacturer approval that is missing so that DTM Pack 24 can be made available to all of us soon? #TeamChristianBaur #WeLoveRaceRoom

I guess Lamborghino won´t sign off unless there car is 30 cm ahead of all the other brands on the launch poster and OP in game....

Phew, yeah, always frustrating that those manufacturers are always a bit picky, not the first time RR has to delay a release in this regard...

I was doing some CPU usage testing in AMS2 and said to myself lets see what RRE is telling me

my HW is upper end with a 5800X3D and 4080S driving my simrig.

I was always under the impression that RRE was a very much single core/threaded Game but what my monitoring is telling me (HWINFO64)is a different story

usage seems to be spread over 4 cores and 4 threads maybe not evenly but certainly not singe core/threaded

I play at 4K and Graphics are maxed out

any thoughts?is that no surprise for you guys? is that related to this very recent update?

In orange are the 8 cores and 8 threads usage. In green the Max CPU/thread usage and in Red the total CPU usage

Not a surprise for me, I noticed the same a while ago. With DXVK I heard it's even more spread out. A lot of that might be due to Windows scheduler that moves the process from one thread to another. Can you bind Raceroom process to only one thread, what will it show?

You might be right about windows scheduler

and I recently moved from w10 to w11 seeing smoother gaming experience including in VR

not much time to do more testing today d sorry

    Hey,
i also use a 5800x3d and did some testing under Win 10. In the end i run RR with SMT of an use only core 5-8. This gave me the max FPS at 0,2% low.
Also using a framcap at 95fps i never noticed a drop below :)

    Oh sorry my mistake :)

3440x1440 everything at maximum except rear view mirrors (middle) and car reflections (low)
My benchmark scene is a replay from a race, visible cars as in the settings 40. View is cockpit.
What I wanted to convey in my previous post was that limiting cores can provide additional performance ;)

    Edit:

I did the tests before the graphics update, maybe the whole thing looks different now but I'm too lazy to test now. Everything runs smoothly.

As I wrote at the Supertourer Thread I noticed a Frame/Performance Drop (DX9) with the (release of that) Carpack at Silverstone Classic (typical flicker as if RAM - 32GB btw.- or CPU is at the limit) but checking out other Classes and Tracks more intensively I realised that I simply can't max out anything as before gfx wise. I reduced shadows, mirrors and reflections to medium and narrowed the grid down to 30 visible cars, 28 cars on track for now (pretty sure there's still room for more)., did the trick. Guess I was a bit too optimistic before.;)

    Win 10H
    RTX 3060
    Rizen 7 3700X
    1080p
    Track IR5

Are you using a monitoring tool?

it will help you to identify where is the bottleneck being cpu ram or GPU

I am on an upper end Hw with a 4080s and 5800x3d so didn’t really notice any hit on performance

I still run the game maxed out at 4K doing 120fps on my oled tv and 90fps in VR at high res and graphics on my PSVR2

Just prevent misunderstanding : I cannot max out everything like BEFORE the September Graphics Update, but in review (I didn't spend much time with RR lately) I'm not surprised that the enhancements regarding shaders, lightning and whatnot take a (little tbh.) toll :)

I just did a quick test at Nordschleife 24h : NLS like Multiclass Grid 55 cars with that slightly reduced settings (that still look fantastic) = average FPS 90 and RR runs butter smooth (DX9,8xSSAA, 1080p, 165hz), all in all more demanding on the GPU much less than expected on the CPU.

    Totally satisfied so far ;)
